Moncler Released a Jacket Made Out of Beans

Sustainability and innovation continue to be two of the biggest pillars of the Moncler empire. For its latest, the Italian brand released a bio-based and completely carbon-neutral jacket made with plant-based fabrics. The new coat follows the recent launch of the Grenoble Recycled Line as the outerwear giant’s latest step in its sustainable initiative.

In addition to plant-based material, many aspects of the jacket are made from beans. Yes, you read that correctly. The fabric lining, buttons, and zips of the new down jacket are all produced from castor beans, which require little water to grow and allow for a 30% reduction of CO2 emissions,  all the while still maintaining Moncler’s quality standard of technicality and performance. To top it off, a “BIO” chest graphic and hangtags further reflect the outerwear’s environmentally-friendly identity.

Huf Celebrates 25 Years of ‘Pulp Fiction’ with New Capsule

It’s hard to believe that Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 iconic and (arguably) career-defining film Pulp Fiction celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Upon its release, the movie was lauded for its idiosyncratic style and homage to gangster films past with its innovative combination of violence and humor — basically Tarantino at his best. To honor its legacy and position in the cultural canon, HUF made a capsule collection of pieces inspired by the film’s most memorable scenes. The special-edition range from the LA-based skate brand includes jackets, woven tops, fleeces, T-shirts, and more that directly feature some of the famous characters’ faces as well as seminal dialogue. Mia Wallace (as made famous by Uma Thurman) is prominently featured on a range of graphic tees while the whole Ezekiel 25:17 bible verse (rewritten by Tarantino and made famous by Samuel L. Jackson) is printed on the back of a jacket.

The HUF x Pulp Fiction collection will be available in HUF stores and online on December 12.

Macaulay Culkin is the Face of Happy Socks’ Holiday Campaign

Beloved holiday institution Macaulay Culkin has lent his talents to Happy Socks for its Naughty or Nice campaign. Since its launch in 2008, the Swedish sock giant has become a multi-million dollar business and collaborated with everyone from Havaiana to Wiz Khalifa. Culkin is just the latest to partner with the brand in a quirky holiday campaign.

“Both Happy Socks and I have really good taste in spokesman,” Culkin said in a statement. “But yeah, Christmas is my time of year. I get recognized 10x more between the months of November and January. I have no idea why!”

Culkin is not the first to pivot into the titillating world of sock design (remember Rob Kardashian’s plans of a sock empire?) but he is the perfect face to represent the holiday collection since his role in 1990’s Home Alone launched him into the cultural consciousness and beyond. In the ad, he is seated in his element stroking a pet iguana while wearing an ugly Christmas sweater and three styles of Happy Socks socks. And, of course, he delivers his career-making scream. A merry Christmas indeed.

The Happy Socks Holiday collection is available online now. Watch the video above now.
