A Look at the British Fashion Awards 2019 Winners

Fashion’s greatest creators gathered together in London on the red carpet for the annual British Fashion Awards hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross last night. Ross hosted wearing Richard Quinn who was nominated for British Womenswear Designer of the year. Quinn, however, lost to four major category winner Bottega Veneta who won Designer of the Year. Not to forget, Queen Rhianna stepped out on the carpet in her own brand, Fenty, wearing a mint green mini dress with an extravagant tulle jacket. Rihanna won the Urban Luxe Award for her brand Fenty and gracefully accepted the award thanking Bernard Arnault (of LVMH) with a brief speech. “Thank you for believing in me as a young black woman and my talent,” said Rihanna. “Thank you for giving me the opportunity to prove what I love to do.”

The night was intertwined with musical performances from Boy George, Eric Clapton, and British rapper Little Simz. And, acknowledging the loss of influential designer Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour and Amanda Harlech honored their dear friend with a speech speaking on his success and impact on the fashion industry.
