Check Out the Adidas x Major League Soccer 2020 Jerseys

Major League Soccer and Adidas have revealed a lineup of 2020 jerseys ahead of the league’s 25th season. The collection honors 26 teams across America and will serve as official team uniforms for the next year. The presentation, called FORWARD25 as a nod to the league’s anniversary, featured an array of athletes, actors, and other celebrity fans modeling the jersey for their respective teams. Each jersey features the iconic 3-stripe Adidas design, which first debuted in the ’90s when MLS was officially formed. Each club, however, has unique additions to their own design. In similar news, Nike released its 2020 Olympic uniforms as the two iconic sportswear rivals begin their respective seasons.

Little Waysv

Inside SoHo’s Hottest Supper Club, Little Ways

Eldridge Hospitality, the group behind Lower East Side cult restaurant/bar Flower Shop is expanding with Little Ways, its new “supper club” offshoot in SoHo inspired by travel —  both time and distance. From dining in one corner to resting on a velvet sofa while sipping on cocktails, Little Ways is the cool, sexy living room that you never had.

The establishment spans over two-stories and carries a familiar vibe as its sister venue.“If The Flower Shop is the boy in the family then Little Ways is the well-traveled older sister. We want it to feel like you are a guest in her home,” says co-founder of the hospitality group Dylan Hales. And she is indeed refined, social but in a casual manner, and very much separated between the dining and the drinking. As Hales and his co-founders ninth opening, Hales admits that it doesn’t necessarily get easier.

Little Ways

The group originally searched for a location away from SoHo, considering the Bronx, Greenpoint, or even out of state, but the West Broadway location had a nostalgic appeal. “Tucked away below the shopping district but also nestled in with 5-star hotels, restaurants and the residential section of Soho we thought this the perfect location to build a community,” says Hales. And the resulting space is a guesthouse of sorts as a nod to the classic ’70s SoHo lofts and dives — the second floor is set as an airy living room with custom and vintage furniture pieces include couches, terrazzo bench tops, plants, and Moroccan Tulu rugs. Layered with intricacies and meticulous attention to detail, every single piece of decor is perfectly in/out of place.

Ultimately the intent, as co-founder Ronnie Flynn explains, was that “Hopefully by the end of your meal you’re sharing dessert with your new friends at the table next to you.” And if not, “you can just hide out in a corner on a cozy date.” The new kind of New York outing scene is just that — laissez-faire politics over sophisticated food and cocktails. We’ve spoken to Executive Chef Michael Hamilton to learn more about the kitchen.

Little Ways

EH: What elements did you focus on for the menu?

Michael Hamilton: We focused heavily on sourcing the best ingredients from local suppliers, essentially allowing then ingredients to shine through. We aim to bring out the best flavor of the ingredients instead of cooking them to create a flavor.

What was the train of thought that brought the menu to where it is now?/

This is something that’s been brewing for the best part of 15 years, my tenure as a chef in New York City. Shaun [co-chef Shaun Widger] and I, have created truly unique relationships that have allowed us to create something quite magical at Little Ways. From relationships with Frank Tentacoste from Bhumi Farms in LI who has been testing his soil for nutrient density in order to grow the best produce possible, or small start-up vinegar makers, like Rodrigo Vargas from Maine, or John Ratliff from Ends Meat who works with small farmers who name their herd of cattle by name. He makes clean and precise charcuterie some also super funky stuff but only through his simple practice of properly curing and aging with time and love.

Little Ways

Will Little Ways continue reinventing its dishes? Would you consider it a seasonal cuisine then?

Absolutely, our menu focuses on radical seasonality, therefore we will constantly evolve our dishes based on the best ingredients we can source. Perhaps an “evolving cuisine” from us as the chefs are continuing to learn and create and with that in mind learning about carbon traps in the soil and sea from the people we source from.

How does the kitchen complement the atmosphere at Little Ways and vice-versa?

The kitchen is part of the atmosphere at Little Ways! We have an open kitchen so diners can see the service in action, which is hustling, bustling and energetic. The dining room is an extension of the kitchen too, it’s the last piece of finishing salt when the plate hits the table -it’s a beautiful dining room with curated art from up-and-coming artists, clean lines, and warming color.

Bulgari

Bulgari Launched Its B.zero1 Rock Jewelry Collection in NYC

Bulgari, along with new faces of the brand Lily AldridgeNaomi Scott, and Zendaya, unveiled its newest B.zero1 Rock jewelry collection and the accompanying Mai Troppo 2020 campaign last night in Brooklyn. Taking a short but needed break from fashion week madness, Bulgari threw a rager with performances by Becky G, Ciara, and Diplo, and a star-studded guest list of models, A-listers, and everyone in between.

The launch event, held at the Duggal Greenhouse, was a reflection of the Italian spirit of the brand, decked out in black and red colors with a floating light module by White Void. Additional immersion rooms offered experiences as well. The brand’s CEO Jean-Cristophe Babin kicked off the night with the campaign film shot by John Renck in Rome defining “mai troppo,” which essentially means “never too much” in Italian. In the campaign, the three new faces and actor Kris Wu embody this image of flamboyance and exuberance that the brand does so well. Keeping with the brand’s Roman spirit, the new collection references a few of its own pieces from the ’80s — the heritage tubogas choker with studs has been updated for the new millennium and one can’t forget the iconic rings. And with that, Bulgari kicked off the season while hinting at many surprises up its sleeves.

It’s Been a Long Week: Lavender Daiquiri

As true believers of the work hard, play hard mantra, we present you with It’s Been a Long Week, a weekly column aimed at awarding some liquid appreciation to you for just being yourself, dammit. Make yourself a glass or two, on us — you deserve it.

It’s only February and we can already say that lavender cocktails will be a true hit in 2020 (as this is the second one we’re featuring in the span of the month.) They’re pretty, yummy, and remind of a carefree Provence that we are all yearning for. We’ve borrowed this daiquiri recipe from Greenbar Distillery in Los Angeles because it isn’t the overly sweet bouquet that we are used to daiquiris being. Clean and refreshing, this daiquiri features a  balance between a sweet and floral cocktail in combining rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and lavender bitters. And it’s quite easy to make–

Ingredients:

Cocktail Credit: Litty Mathews & Melkon Khosrovian

  • 2 oz CRUSOE Silver Rum

  • 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

  • 1 oz Simple Syrup

  • 2 dashes BAR KEEP Lavender Bitters

Method:

  • Combine all the ingredients and shake with ice until your shaker tin goes frosty.
  • Strain into a coupe.
  • Serve with fresh lavender or a lime wheel.

Nike Reveals the 2020 Olympics Uniforms

Nike unveiled its 2020 Olympic line last night during New York Fashion Week, with special guests including Rosalía, Drake, and Virgil Abloh spotted in the front row. The athletic brand also featured a tribute to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash last month, with a line of six children who quietly took the stage in Bryant’s number 8 jerseys as they shared a moment of silence. The show continued with a complete runway presentation and a dance number with athletes and models performing side by side.

Another highlight of the show was the reveal of Off-White x Nike sneakers that Abloh teased on Instagram ahead of the show. We can expect more of the iconic Nike logo in Off-White quotation marks to come, with a hinted line of apparel as well. After the show, Abloh went backstage to celebrate the upcoming launch, where he was joined by the aforementioned guests and colleagues including French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus.

Acne Studios Unleashes Its Monsters

You’ve heard of monsters under the bed, now get ready for monsters in your pocket: Swedish brand Acne Studios is launching its ‘Monster in my Pocket’ capsule based on the cult toy characters from the ’90s created by Joe Morrison and John Weems. Some standout pieces include hoodies, button-down shirts, hats, caps, scarves, and other accessories with screen-prints of each creature.

The throwback collection brings back the iconic memorabilia into the present. With over 200 creatures, inspired by various stories, science fiction, and mythology, the collectible series was one of the most popular of its day. For the capsule, Acne Studios chose to feature the zombie, werewolf, Triton, and the Great Beast on an assortment of screen-printed apparel. Perfect for a music festival, an ayahuasca retreat, or just a day in the city, the monsters have your back.

The Acne Studios ‘Monster in My Pocket’ capsule collection will be available in select stores and online on February 8.

Valmont Palazzo Nobile

Valmont Launched Two Perfume Collections Just in Time for Spring

Valmont launched its first perfume collection, Storie Veneziane, in 2018 and today two new editions, Palazzo Nobile and Collezione Privata, are joining the family. The choice to divide the range into two collections reflects the personal preferences of founders Sophie and Didier Guillon.

Palazzo Nobile is celebrated in six Eaux de toilette options — the line is highlighted with Casanova 2161, a woody essence with a modern twist with the freshness from juniper berries and floral. The remaining five scents assert themselves in fresh varied notes of memory: “Sea Bliss,” focused on wanderlust, “Secret Bamboo,” the elegance of the plant, “Satin Musk,” a glorified musk, “Blooming Ballet,” a feminine seduction, and “Bright Poppy,” as the perfume for a social type. Palazzo Nobile is a true representation of Didier’s art in the realm of olfactory goodness.

Meanwhile, Sophie expresses her loves in three strong perfumes created by some of the industry’s prevalent noses. As a woman who loves contrasts, her collection embodies the image of a sophisticated, metropolitan person with the candidness and spontaneity of sensual life. She dedicated “Jazzy Twist” to freedom and elusiveness (featuring floral chords), “Lady Code” to the French chic (featuring chypre notes), and “Private Mind” to a strong contemplative and mysterious character (featuring floral and leathery notes). After perfecting one of the most prestigious and effective beauty regimens, Valmont is now also a trusted perfume house ready to charm modern men and women.

Prada and UNESCO

Prada and UNESCO Take on Ocean Preservation

Following Prada’s Re-Nylon initiative, the Italian house has joined efforts with UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission in a sustainable educational program. The four-month program will dedicate itself to teaching sustainability and circular economy in a network of secondary schools around the world.

The goal of the program is in line with the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda and its 17 sustainable development goals. It will educate students and raise awareness for responsible and mindful behavior with respect to the oceans and their resources. The commitment to raise eco-responsibility is one of fashion’s primary concerns these days and Prada is a true frontrunner. In fact, the initiative is financed through a portion of the proceeds from the PRADA Re-Nylon capsule collections (which was donated to UNESCO) in a truly circular economy.

The Prada and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission initiative will take place from February to May 2020.

Pantone Blue

Get Lost in Pantone’s Classic Blue at Artechouse

The Pantone Color Institute declared Classic Blue the color of 2020, branding the new decade as a transitional time that the color tends to symbolize. Artechouse NYC partnered with the institute to bring the color to life in a full-sensory experience through sight, sound, and feelings (as well as blue booze). The two-story multi-sensory installation focuses on imprinting the color onto the mind and soul.

The innovative digital location opened its New York City gallery in 2019 with the color-centered exhibit on view for a limited time last February. In the new space, the color whirls through space in the creations of atoms and molecules, planets, and oceans. The abstract forms swirl onto the walls like psychedelic projections of the mind that quickly transpire into a sense of restfulness. The installation aims to center our thoughts, aid our concentration, and foster a sense of resilience that’s necessary today. During a time of global chaos, the color blue can offer reassurance while we cross the threshold into a new time period of peace.

“We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, in a release. The exhibit does just that, offering a safe and cozy haven imbued with resonance and understanding that seems to envelop one on a journey beyond the walls of the installation.

Classic Blue: The Installation is on view from February 5 – 23; Sun-Thurs 10 am-10 pm and Fri-Sat 10 am-11 pm.

JW Anderson

Tyler Mitchell Shot JW Anderson’s Spring/Summer ’20 Campaign

Renowned photographer Tyler Mitchell, who rose to fame as the first black photographer to shoot a September issue of Vogue, just shot JW Anderson‘s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign. The images feature familiar faces from the British label’s earlier campaign, which was cast with a roster of street cast models. Anderson’s whimsical sensibility is evident both in the collection and the artistic direction of the visuals, which feature giant tricycles and trampolines. The increasingly odd elegance in the pieces itself makes the tension between innovation and tradition quite evident. Surreal pastel-colored images are balanced by retro sepia-like photographs that reflect a sense of heritage (a common theme for the brand) while evoking a sense of general youth spirit. Maybe the kids are alright after all.

Herschel Supply Partners with Coke Once Again

Herschel Supply is partnering with Coca-Cola once again on a new range of bags, apparel, and accessories. With an array of brands including Diesel, Kith, and Facetasm partnering with Coke, the famed logo has become a true pop-culture closet staple as well. The limited-edition capsule with Herschel Supply features casual pieces including a T-shirt that reads “Have a Good Day,” bucket hats, fanny packs, and other pieces.

The duo’s second collaboration is a departure from the first, with an ’80s-inspired red-and-white checkboard print on signature Kerschel styles and the epochal Coke logo featured on nearly every piece.

The limited-edition Coca-Cola x Herschel Supply collection is available at Herschel stores and online now.

Watch the Fascinating Journey of a Fabergé Egg

Fabergé‘s coveted eggs have been a symbol of uttermost decadence for nearly two centuries. At long last, for those who have wondered about how the famous eggs came to be, the brand just revealed a short film, The Journey of an Egg, as part of its series on the making of its enchanting Palais Tsarskoye Selo Turquoise Locket — the turquoise locket with diamonds and a petite red heart inside is one of the jewelry maker’s signatures.

The design first starts off in London where Liisa Tallgren paints the delicate design with watercolor painting. It then heads to Germany where the mold is filled with gold by hand. The video even shows an artisan making the enamel and painting the small piece, an intricate process that makes the final result all the more satisfying — the meticulous job can take up to five layers and firings and as long as two days to produce one model. The finished piece is comprised of 19 karat gold and 16 diamonds.

The Palais Tsarskoye Selo Turquoise Locket with Heart Surprise is available now and can be purchased at Faberge.com and select global retailers. Watch the video above now.
