If you’ve ever been curious about dabbling in amateur photography, now’s your chance. Saint Laurent has partnered with creative photography agency Lomography on two limited-edition Simple Use Film Cameras. Each camera features a retro print — a checkerboard style comes preloaded with black-and-white film and a star-print model is loaded with color negative film, but obviously each can be reloaded with any type of compatible film.
These days, analog photos just hit differently when everyone else is digital manipulating their own pics beyond recognition. Now’s a good time to pick up a camera and focus on composition and natural lighting. After all, no matter what else is going on, spring is right around the corner.
The Saint Laurent x Lomography Simple Use Film Cameras are available at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles now.
Following in the footsteps of Travis Scott, Keanu Reeves, and the fashionable men before them, Ezra Miller is the newest face of Saint Laurent. The enigmatic gender-fluid actor stars in a classic black-and-white portrait campaign for the label’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection shot by longtime collaborator David Sims. In one image, Miller sports a mystical sequin top and pair of billowy black trousers with matching painted black nails. Another look finds the star in an open button-down shirt, wearing lots of jewelry and a lustrous pair of high-waisted pants.
Since his cultural emergence starring opposite the similarly enigmatic Tilda Swinton in We Need to Talk About Kevin, Miller has continued to intrigue the public with his unique talents, taste for avant-garde fashion, and gender-fluid style that turns heads on every red carpet he steps on. In his latest role as a Saint Laurent shaman, it simply looks like the part he was born to play. Take a look at the campaign photos below.
Known for his roles in Mr. Robot and Bohemian Rhapsody, Rami Malek is now the face of Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2020 men’s campaign. The actor’s involvement with the brand is officiated with series of black-and-white shots captured by frequent collaborator and photographer David Sims. Directed by the brand’s own Anthony Vaccarello, Malek sports the latest collection, which features an array of slim-cut trousers, military-inspired pieces, boleros, tailored jeans, and sequins.
The Egyptian-American actor landed his first fashion campaign in 2017 when he was the face of then, Dior Homme (now known as Dior Men). He follows in the footsteps of Travis Scott and Keanu Reeves who have previously posed for Saint Laurent’s stoic campaigns. The actor also recently wore a look by the designer, naturally, to the 2020 Golden Globe Awards where he was nominated for Best Actor.

Shoe shopping just got a lot easier. Launching earlier this week, Saks unveiled an expansive floor dedicated entirely to footwear that carries over 160 designers. The new 8000-square-foot space is a 60% increase in dedicated footwear space and is planned to be a shoe megacenter of sorts. In addition to carrying more shoes than you can wave a stick at, the store will organize and host special events, workshops, trunk shows, and other activations to build a community for shoppers. Some of the brands carried in the space include Dior, Celine, Balenciaga, Gucci, and Saint Laurent, so if you’re into fashion with a capital ‘F,’ you’re all set. Additionally, the store also carries Puma, Off-White, New Balance, Timberland, and Adidas for hypebeasts and athletes. With a whole floor of footwear, shopping for shoes might just be something to look forward to.
The Met Gala — aka the Super Bowl of Fashion — is always an opportune moment to flex fashion literacy. The night’s theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion, and with such a niche and subjective concept, it’s clear that some guests did their homework more than others. We highlight some of the night’s biggest Camp moments below.
Elusive and iconic actor Keanu Reeves has won the world over with his mysterious nature and appearances in modern classics like My Own Private Idaho and The Matrix. Ahead of his new John Wick film (out May 17) comes an even more ambitious role for the 54-year old actor: the face of Saint Laurent‘s Fall ’19 menswear line. Under the artistic direction of Anthony Vaccarello, Reeves poses for three stark and statuesque black-and-white portraits (shot by David Sims), decked out in the designer’s latest line. With his brooding good looks and aloof charm, it’s simply the role he was born to play.
Saint Laurent is a rock star brand. Ever since Hedi Slimane was appointed as creative director of the French house in 2011, it’s routinely referenced decades of rock subgenres — punk, garage, new wave, the list goes on — and, in turn, become a favorite of the celebrities it idolizes. It’s a truly symbiotic relationship that has worked seamlessly and the latest effort proves no different, with current creative director Anthony Vaccarello embracing the spectacle of the show for its Fall 2019 presentation beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Vaccarello has led the brand since 2016 and seemed committed to continuing what was started. Saint Laurent’s clothing remains as sleek, slim, and trendy as ever, with one showstopping piece to leave a lasting impression (remember the heart coat?), but previous collections have seemed more like preservation than reinterpretation. However, this season saw a subtle departure from the ultra-skinny tailoring that’s become synonymous with Slimane and, as a result, the label. For the womenswear, shoulders were broader and dresses were looser. The menswear retained many of the signatures (skinny, but breathable tailoring and ’80s influences anchored by a predominantly black color palette). The specter of Slimane remains, but this collection showed Vaccarello ready to reinterpret the pieces in his own way while maintaining its legacy. This was evident in the show’s celebratory final act, which featured models marching down a runway illuminated by blacklight that highlighted several neon looks, which could either be seen as a victory lap or a call for an encore. Guess we’ll find out next season.
