Collaboration, it’s a lovely thing. When William and Kate came together we got Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, when Jay Z and Kanye teamed up we got Watch The Throne, and when Fauchon partnered with Lacoste, we got éclairs! The list is infinite. Add to it MYKITA HAUS Berlin x Maison Martin Margiela, an intricately made eyewear collection that breathes concept into optic design. “Now seems the right time for Margiela to take the next step by creating an even more distinctive and complete optical range. Edgy, talented and creative, MYKITA’s DNA so perfectly aligns with the Maison’s philosophy,” said MMM CEO and Creative Director, Moritz Krüger.
The ‘Essential’ stainless steel frames — available in 6 styles and 4 colors (silver, gold, copper metallic, and dark grey solid) — come complete with a thick, transparent powder coat that bonds the frames giving them a convex body. Meanwhile, the flashier ‘Dual’ acetate frames ostensibly gives wearers two frames bonded together via mutual transplantation. Take a look:
The sunglasses are currently available exclusively at MYKITA boutiques and MMM stores. Starting June 1st, they will be available at Barney’s, Bergdorf’s, and Dover Street Market, along with select optical stores.
