Jose Cuervo Released a Short Film for Día de los Muertos

Jose Cuervo has collaborated with Mexican filmmakers to capture the essence of Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) every year through a distinct lens of the celebration. The first piece for this year was produced by emerging filmmakers Mónica Álvarez and Paola Villaneuva to introduce the harvest of the marigolds and their importance in the festival.

The video takes the viewer to Lake Pátzcuaro in a town located in Michoacán where the dwellers continue to honor historic traditions. Viewers are guided through the harvest of the golden-orange flowers, the making of the bread of the dead, as well as conversations with fishermen who go out onto the lake with boats full of flowers on the night on November 1. The 100% agave tequila brand is joining efforts to support and cultivate Mexico’s traditions for generations to come and for the world to better understand the magic of the festival.
