Burberry Brings British Edge to Barneys New York With New Capsule Collection

Legendary British fashion house Burberry has just launched a new men’s capsule collection of evening ready-to-wear and accessories exclusively designed for Barneys New York.

Inspired by the relaxed spirit of Burberry Prorsum’s Spring/Summer 2015 menswear collection, Burberry xo Barneys includes a mix of classic outerwear silhouettes like trench coats, chesterfields, biker jackets, and tuxedos, but reinterpreted for the evening with the use of silk knits, double cashmere, and suede. To play against the weathered shades of the runway collection, the garments come in a range of tonal colors in jewel hues like bright navy, aqua green, and russet red. The collection features custom prints and illustrations, which were painted and drawn by hand in the Burberry studio in London and influenced by vintage English book covers. The accessories include a large Burberry Travel Satchel in solid and printed grainy leather, satin bow ties, printed scarves, Burberry Field Sneakers in a rich mix of fabrics, and calfskin Biddick Bluchers.

In the East London lookbook, British musician and model George Barnett captures the capsule collection’s confidence and ease. “The whole idea of Burberry is quite heritage and noble, but also a bit rebellious—just like East London. Shooting this was great fun,” he told The Window, Barneys’ editorial site.
