The Biggest Rick Owens Store in Asia

Paris-based American fashion designer Rick Owens has opened a new freestanding store in Hong Kong in conjunction with retailer Joyce Boutique. The three-story retail space is the largest Rick Owens boutique in Asia at 3,800-square-feet and carries the complete men and women’s collections, as well as the Drkshdw and accessories lines. “I’ve designed the store to correspond to a primal ideal I set for myself— quiet emptiness, stone and light,” says Owens, who was heavily inspired by an angular brutalist wall design in Berlin for the retail space. “I might have dreamed it. This wall became a mythological image to me of a futuristic utopian ruin.” The store’s interior concept highlights sleek concrete panels, cutting edge industrial elements, and even has a table sculpture of the designer himself.
