Woolrich and Stüssy Released the Perfect Fall Shirt

WOOLRICH partnered with Laguna Beach-based skate brand Stüssy to create the perfect cold weather, wool plaid shirt. Made from American wool, for extra softness and coziness, the black and green shirt also features Dupont Tactel Lining for extra insulation. Whether used for a late-autumn walk on the beach, as done in the accompanying campaign, or just a simple daytime piece, the seasonal piece is versatile in ways that go beyond fall layering. As plaids continue to take over for fall, consider a warm all-American fit for the season.

Diesel and Coca-Cola Launch an Upcycled Capsule

Diesel and Coca-Cola have collaborated on a 12-piece capsule, The (Re)Collection, which is made from recycled materials including plastic bottles and repurposed cotton. In the past year Coke has already teamed up with fashion brands including KITH and Facetasm, but the collab with Diesel is its first venture into fashion sustainability.

Diesel x Coca Cola

The capsule is a mix of casual unisex pieces and utilitarian-wear, featuring pieces like a denim workwear jacket and pant, as well as a black-zip jersey tracksuit. An array of hooded sweatshirts and t-shirts is also available in Diesel’s traditional monochrome with a single red stripe accent in the center and down the seams. The capsule also includes men’s swimming briefs as well as a women’s one-piece swimsuit.

Diesel x Coca Cola

Being that select Coke bottles are made from plastic, this project illustrates their willingness to collaborate in raising awareness on the value of recycling. As it takes over four-hundred years for plastic to disintegrate, our best option as a consumer society lies in up-cycling plastic products and remaking them into other products including fashion pieces. With giants like Coca-Cola and Diesel on board with recycling efforts, the industry is a step closer to a more ecologically responsible existence.

The collection will launch on September 27 at Paris’ Galleries Lafayette followed by an official release at select Diesel stores worldwide and on Diesel.com on October 7.

Onitsuka Tiger x Christian Dada

Onitsuka Tiger Collaborates With Christian Dada

As Onitsuka Tiger turned 70 this year, it announced seven collaborations with international designers. Its third drop is a collection with Christian Dada‘s Masanori Morikawa that launches on August 26th. The two combined the sportive aspect of the brand and Dada’s touch of adolescence in running sneakers, a jacket, and a few additional apparel items. Dada reinterpreted the iconic Rebilac Runner in their own signature color block. The result is true to dadaist standards with surreal features like the image of a crawling serpent. An additional jacket is featured in the collaboration as a light ’90s tribute with a loose silhouette. The jacket comse in three colors with matching pants. Joining their efforts, the brands are presenting a twisted identity fusing the Japanese brand’s savoir-faire with the whimsical artistic expression from Dada.

The Raf Simons x Fred Perry Collab is All About Hoops

Raf Simons and Fred Perry have released a new unisex capsule collection from their ongoing collaboration. Inspired by European club culture (a signature of Simons), the latest gear mixes subversive elements with Fred Perry’s British heritage. Hardware is a recurring theme within the pieces, with silver hoop embellishments in the shape of Perry’s wreath logo that look like nipple piercings decorating several tops available in black and pink. Another standout is the printed polos that are adorned with photographs of punk youth shot by Gavin Watson and George Plember. As far as collaborations go, the fusion of Simons’ hedonism and Perry’s classic foundation come together pretty effectively.

Mark Webber is the Face of Porsche x BOSS FW19

BOSS has a long history working with athletes, so its recent partnership with Porsche should come as no surprise. In addition to outfitting Porsche’s Formula E team (as well as its teams around the world), the two German brands released a collaborative collection of contemporary pieces for non-racers. But keeping in theme with the driving fantasy, retired Formula 1 champion Mark Webber is the face of the accompanying campaign.

Webber first worked with BOSS in the late ’90s. Despite associating with different teams throughout his lengthy career, he cites the designer as keeping him grounded. “BOSS kept feeding me and I kept buying BOSS even when I wasn’t associated with the brand,” he says. When news broke of the partnership, his involvement was a no-brainer. “I sort of see it as the band being back together,” he jokes. “I’m sure it’s gonna be a hit.”

Born in Australia, the veteran racer has had a lengthy career behind the wheel — in 2013 he retired from Formula 1 and two years later won the FIA World Endurance Championship before officially retiring from the sport a year later. As the face of the Fall/Winter 2019 campaign, Webber acknowledges the convenience and poise of the brand’s menswear. “They’ve always been pretty timeless and sporty. For me, I like that it’s strong and bold — it’s a very wide wardrobe for me.”

Unsurprisingly, the collection effortlessly captures the action and coolness of traditional driving gear and gives it a sophisticated and practical twist. This is evident in the classic leather motor jacket and subtly sleek black sneakers. Since this is also a sports-inspired range after all, there are plenty of performance-inspired pieces too — polo shirts and knitted pullovers are equipped with zippered necklines for optimum convenience. The collection is full of minimal yet clever design details that fuse the excitement of the sport with the contemporary polish of BOSS.

“HUGO BOSS and Porsche both stand for innovation and perfection,” CEO of HUGO BOSS AG Mark Langer said in a statement. “We have already cooperated successfully in the area of motor sports over the course of recent years and decades. That is why I am delighted that our cooperation will now reach a new level with the future-oriented Formula E series.”

Later this year BOSS will dress Neel Jani, who’s driven for Porsche since 2013, when he races in the upcoming Formula E sixth season. He also notes similarities between the car brand and designer. “Precision is everything in racing,” he says. “And so it is with BOSS. You have to know what you like and I think it’s that philosophy that both share that makes it [the parntership] work.”

The Porsche x BOSS Fall/Winter 2019 collection is now available in select stores and online.

Duke + Dexter Releases Snoop Dogg Collab

British footwear brand Duke + Dexter is launching an 18-piece collection of pieces designed in collaboration with Snoop Dogg. The exclusive collection features an array of pool slides and loafers in various colorways, all marked with the icon’s face. If you weren’t able to cop the Vetements Snoop Dogg tee from 2016 (which he criticized for its absurd pricepoint), now’s your chance to get some proper attire

The rapper himself has long been a fan at the brand before, before working with the team on a 1,000-piece limited capsule. Inspired by “pool to party” vibes natural to the star, each pair of shoes reflects Snoop Dogg’s personal style and preferences. The pieces range from vivid emerald green and red tones finished off in velvet, and ones with a stamped cannabis leaf all over.

Moncler x Palm Angels: Art Breakers

Last year, Moncler announced it would collaborate with a rotating series of artists as part of its Moncler Genius initiative. The program’s latest output arrives this summer with a series of pieces designed in partnership with Los Angeles-based Palm Angels. The collection was helmed by Francesco Ragazzi, who centered the concept on the idea of a “vandalized art gallery,” and found inspiration in trashed, metallic candy wrappers. The resulting pieces are a glossy yet insurgent take on Moncler’s signature outerwear.

Matt Shultz Designs Boot Collection With Frye

The Frye Company, renowned for its deep roots in leather shoemaking worked with Matt Shultz, lead singer for indie band Cage the Elephant, to create three unisex boot styles in bright colorways inspired by both musical and American history.

Shultz oversaw much of the design process, sketching designs before creating the final results: a Rocker, a Cowboy, and a Harlequin style boot. Elegant and chic, the cowboy boot struts with a proper Westen vibe, while the Chelsea style offers an urban twist. The final piece of the collection however really goes to the Heartbreaker style, available in a bold red and white color-contrast.
