Peek Inside Givenchy’s Mythological Pre-Fall 2020 Campaign

Givenchy‘s Pre-Fall 2020 campaign depicts an ode to Iris, the Greek messenger goddess who traveled freely between sea and sky. Models are seen strutting from land to a water source decked out in key pieces from the collection. The campaign, under the artistic direction of Clare Waight Keller, was shot in a 1981 Brutalist structure. Inspired by Ancient Greek aqueducts, the building offers the perfect backdrop juxtaposition against the romantic and ruffled pieces. The men’s pieces include suits and utilitarian jumpsuits alongside the flowy and feathered women’s ready to wear. The light shapes and sensual materials recall the need to reconnect with nature despite the rough terrestrial environment.
