3 At-Home Workouts to Keep You Busy

In the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it’s more important than ever to do whatever you can to stay healthy. In addition to washing your hands and social distancing, regular exercise is key to maintaining a strong immune system. If you aren’t able to hit up your regular crowded gym, here are some workouts you can practice from the comfort of your own home, no equipment (or human contact!) necessary. Here’s to feeling the burn — without the fever.

It’s recommended that most self-induced quarantines last 14 days which is enough time to complete a huge portion of this 22-day ab challenge. The good thing about this plan is that it encourages you to do each of the six core exercises “to extinction” which basically means until you can’t do any more reps. This ensures an intense workout regardless of skill level that will have your abs summer-ready in no time.

Chest health is absolutely crucial. This daily challenge incorporates different push-up forms including normal, staggered, and negative into one compact and vigorous 5-minute workout. And the clock on the screen is super helpful so you can follow the exercises in real-time — it’s always nice to see a finish line. This workout is definitely more about strength and endurance than reps but if you feel like it didn’t push you hard enough, feel free to do it again. It’s not like you’re going anywhere.

If you’re working remotely or just avoiding going outside in general, you gotta find a way to fit some cardio into your day. Here are 70 individual exercises to get the blood pumping — try mixing and matching exercises with 30-second sets and you’ll be totally ripped before you can even touch your face again.

‘Tiger King’ is the Perfect Binge for Chaotic Times

As if there aren’t enough distractions in the world already, Netflix is releasing a new absolutely binge-worthy true crime series. Upon first glance, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness has the same manic tone of  Spring Breakers, but instead of hot young people turning to crime in Florida it’s middle-aged folk turning to crime while collecting large exotic cats.

The series shines a light on one of my favorite bits of forgotten American lore, which is the numerous legal loopholes that allow regular people to adopt foreign animals and keep them in their backyards. What could go wrong, I always wonder when I’m reminded that some people in states like Ohio and Wisconsin collect lions, tigers, bears, and other wild animals as if they were stamps. Tiger King shows you just how things in the world of exotic animal hoarding can go awry, but not in the ways you’d imagine. It’s definitely a wild show (no pun intended) that’s best viewed with as little background as possible and sure to keep you on your toes for all seven episodes.

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness will be available on Netflix on March 20. Watch the trailer above.

Austin Augie & Bella Hadid Star in Latest MK Campaign

Swedish photographer Mikael Jansson shot the latest MICHAEL Michael Kors and the designer’s men’s campaign with supermodel Bella Hadid, Hiandra Martinez and BMX rider Austin Augie. The new video series for Spring 2020 finds each star walking through an airport (coronavirus-related travel fears be damned!) donning the American label’s latest travel-friendly apparel.

“The airport is where all adventures begin,” Kors said in a statement. “We wanted to take an experience that can feel mundane and infuse it with style and energy and the excitement that comes with traveling somewhere new.”

Augie sports a lightweight blue jacket adorned with an all-over print of the brand’s logo, as well as touting a two-toned backpack and oversized pair of athletic-inspired sunglasses. The upscale yet understated take on travel/leisurewear is a clear strength of the brand and can be seen in full force in the designer’s most recent collection.

‘No Time to Die’ Release Delayed Due to Coronavirus

James Bond fans are gonna have to wait a little longer for their next fix of Britain’s favorite spy. The 25th film No Time to Die, which was slated for release next month, is being delayed until the fall due to coronavirus fears.

“MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of No Time to Die will be postponed until November 2020. The film will be released in the U.K. on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the U.S. launch on November 25, 2020,” the three studios in charge of distribution for the film told Deadline.

The film was widely anticipated for a number of reasons. For one, the film is Daniel Craig’s final outing as the iconic character and early rumors reported that he’d pass the torch to Lashana Lynch, who would be the first female 007 ever. And Billie Eilish recorded the titular song for the movie — at 18 years old, she’s the youngest artist ever to write and perform a Bond song. (She surpasses Sheena Easton who was 22 when she recorded “For Your Eyes Only” in 1981.) Coronavirus aside, it’s refreshing that a film franchise as enduring as James Bond manages to maintain its cultural cache by adapting to the times.

No Time to Die will be released in the US on November 25. Listen to Billie Eilish’s “No Time to Die” below now.

Listen to Bad Bunny’s New Album ‘YHLQMDLG’ Now

After its release just last week, Bad Bunny‘s latest album YHLQMDLG has already taken over 14 positions on Spotify’s Global 50 playlist — three of those hits including “La Difícil,” “Ignorantes,” and “Si Veo a Tu Mamá” have landed on Top 10. The album, translating roughly as: whatever I want to do (lo que me da la gana,) continues with the artist’s well-known perreo, trap, and reggaetón style. Themes vary from common heartbreak and just wanting to spend the night dancing. In comparison to the Puerto Rican artist’s first album, this one is less nostalgic and carries an overall joyful theme. Songs like “Yo Perreo Sola” and “Safaera” are sure to play at every party this summer, and others are sure feel-good tracks to listen to all spring long.

Watch Jennifer Lopez & Michael B Jordan in Coach’s New Campaign

Featuring Michael B. Jordan and Jennifer Lopez as the faces of Coach, the American brand launched a set of films for its spring campaign. With the video series, titled ‘Originals Go Their Own Way,’ the designer highlights how each star paved their own path. Emphasizing authenticity, individuality, and self-expression, the films tell the stories of Jordan and Lopez in their own words. Lopez says that she always remembers where she came from (South Bronx) no matter where her career takes her. On the other hand, Jordan shares an uplifting message about staying true to himself while playing basketball. The line will also feature a bonus film from British fencer Miles Chamley-Watson.

Check Out Calvin Klein’s Latest Star-Studded Campaign

You can always depend on a Calvin Klein campaign to have more stars than an American flag. The designer’s latest for Spring 2020 is no exception, casting a wide net of fresh and established faces. International sensations like Maluma, SZA, Kendall Jenner, and Justin Bieber are featured along with upcoming talents like Lil Nas X, singer and actor Lay Zhang, and Euphoria actress Hunter Schafer.

The visual series was shot by the veteran photorgrapher Mario Sorrenti and the accompanying video was directed by Canaidan video maker Bardia Zeinali. Since the brand discontinued its ready-to-wear line early last year following the sudden departure of then-creative director Raf Simons, the CK Jeans and Underwear campaign is a reminder that the designer’s greatest strength lies in its ability to create simple, sexy, and cool pieces for sexy and cool people.

Celine’s Nightclubbing Scent Wants to Bring Back Disco

There is no better rush than losing yourself on a dancefloor, surrounded by warm bodies moving euphorically and ~vibing~ to the enveloping pulse of the music. Apparently Celine seems to feel the same way, with its latest fragrance — simply and effectively called Nightclubbing — campaign capturing the pure ecstasy of the dancefloor. Featuring an illuminated and animated choreographed torso (no face pic here) cavorting to the tune of a French piano ballad, the new video campaign shows the reckless abandon and bliss of nightlife. The French designer’s creative director Hedi Slimane is famously known for his rock star obsession (just see anything he did for Dior or Saint Laurent from 2000-2016), so it’s nice to see him embrace a little bit of a disco era à la Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Watch the Trailer for the Mother’s Day Horror Flick ‘Run’

One of the most beloved horror tropes is the unhinged mother. Whether its Pamela Vorhees avenging her son’s death by killing teenage camp counselors in Friday the 13th or Toni Colette just absolutely losing it after the death of her child in Hereditary (I’m sensing a pattern here), there’s nothing more unnerving (and entertaining) than watching a mother unravel. This definitely seems to be the case for Run, a new psychological thriller starring American Horror Story-alum Sarah Paulson due out later this spring.

In the new trailer for Run, Paulson seems poised to join the pantheon of iconic horror moms. The film casts her as a single mother raising a wheelchair-bound daughter who eventually starts to question her mom’s intentions. The trailer doesn’t reveal much, but there are shots of a possible name change, unhealthy overbearing tendencies, and possible traces of Munchausen syndrome that suggest that maybe mother doesn’t always know best. Even better, the movie is slated to come out during Mother’s Day weekend.

Run will be released on May 8. Watch the trailer above now.

Guggenheim’s Newest Exhibit Features Sies Marjan Merch

The Guggenheim Museum’s newest exhibit “Countryside, The Future” explores timely environmental, political and socioeconomic issues. Co-curated by Rem Koolhaas and Samir Bantal, the multidisciplinary exhibition chronicles the changes in the rural territories, which is 98% of the Earth’s surface that isn’t metropolitan, and posits that humans are not only the predictors of the future, but also enablers. And so it implements a kind of paradox for New York’s backdrop by bringing in tractors, hay, sheep, wind turbines, and other beacons of rural life into the institution. This is then the first of its kind exhibit at the Guggenheim which is not dedicated to art — “This is not an art show,” it boldly declares on one of the plaques.

The exhibit also features a slew of collaborations in particular with Sies Marjan‘s designer Sandar Lak who created a capsule collection for the museum’s gift shop. Naturally, the pieces are sustainable. IKEA was another notable contributor that created items for the exhibition.

“Countryside, The Future” will be on display at the Guggenheim until August 14.

A Portrait of a Dystopian Future by Balenciaga

Balenciaga seems to have made the pivot to video with the launch of its own newsroom ‘BLNCG Live’ seen in the designer’s Summer 2020 campaign. The first broadcast (directed by Will Benedict) is a real, almost Lynchian, trip complete with a dark and ambient wordless soundtrack. An ambitious crew of model-turned news anchors with mouths dubbed over like Sims avatars highlights key issues like the upcoming election (and how youth are instrumental in its outcome — ‘RECORD TURNOUT DRIVEN BY YOUNG PEOPLE’ a potentially prescient headline reads) and more broadly, WHERE IS THE WATER GOING?

There’s also the promising notion that traffic jams are gone (‘NO MORE TRAFFIC JAMS!’ an eager headline exclaims) but as a result, PEDESTRIANS ARE BACK, including an animated plastic bag that seems to have resisted being recycled and adopted human living mechanisms as its own, proudly crossing the street alongside model-like civilians dressed in the Spanish designer’s summer collection and sporting the Hello Kitty bag. There’s no explanation for anything but there doesn’t need to be — this is the future that Balenciaga wants. Or maybe just a preview of the end of the world. Either way, take a look at the weirdly brilliant campaign above.
