As true believers of the work hard, play hard mantra, we present you with It’s Been a Long Week, a weekly column aimed at awarding some liquid appreciation to you for just being yourself, dammit. Make a glass or two on us, you deserve it.

WHAT

Blue Ribbon Downing Street’s Country Lawyer
Once a headliner, the Country Lawyer—a warm, bourbon-based libation—has been retired from New York’s Blue Ribbon Downing Street‘s official menu, but measures can be made based for those locals in the know. Other lucky wanderers might also receive the cocktail through the intimate bar’s omakase sampler: a bespoke and thus ever-changing three-drink service crafted by each drinker’s personal favorites and a necessary sense of adventure. For those in between both fates, we’ve replicated the favorite drink below.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Knob Creek Bourbon
  • 0.5 oz. Zucca Amaro
  • 0.5 oz. Dolin Dry Vermouth
  • 0.25 oz. Bénédictine
  • 2 dashes Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters

THEN

Chill with ice and stir. Serve up in a chilled rocks glass with an orange twist.
