G-Star RAW Tailored Atelier Comes to America
G-Star inaugurated their first (and long awaited) American RAW Tailored Ateliers at their New York and Los Angeles stores this week. Previously, you had to hop a flight to Amsterdam or Hong Kong to find a G-Star RAW tailored atelier, which is cool but also maybe a touch out of the way. At the ateliers, a savvy, professional G-Star tailor measures you up and advises on correct size/inseams, which will then be crafted exactly to your preference. To start, they’re only offering the program on their straight fit 3301 classic 5 pocket but among the things you get to pick, aside from perfect fit, are the final details of buttons, rivets, and back label, which depending on your preference, can give the denim a range of effects from vintage to modern. Finally, the denim will be shipped in an exclusive RAW Tailored Atelier canvas bag. To know—the denim used in the RAW Tailor Atelier is crafted from G-Star’s Red Listing raw denim, a special fabric woven on vintage shuttle looms that create irregularities in the fabric (and is recognizable by the red thread on the inseams).
