In an unprecedented move, Los Angeles-based brand Five Four partners with United Arrows & Sons‘ creative director POGGYTHEMAN to release an exclusive 93-piece collection for Spring 2017. Aiming to bridge the gap between American masculinity and Japanese style, the collection is a breath of eclectic life, a peek into the inner workings of one of Japan’s biggest fashion icons. “Poggy is a very interesting guy,” says Five Four Head Designer Mark McNairy. “While working together we discovered that our designs really complement one another in this collection.” Though Poggy has his inventive sights set high—he hopes to start a movement in fashion that transcends trends—the collection is a respectable foray into an all encompassing yet easily distinguishable line. Featuring embroidered jackets, denim, sweater, tees, and shirts, the pieces fit together jig-saw like, crafting an ideal wardrobe of solid style. Available both on its ecommerce site as well as the Five Four Club, the brand’s membership program, the collection is Californian rebranded, a peek at the West through the eyes of the far East.
