First Deliveries: Christopher Kane Spring 2013 Menswear

Christopher Kane Spring 2013

The painterly T-shirts, swim trunks and at least one sweater that make up the first available bit of the Christopher Kane Spring 2013 menswear collection couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time. The mostly muted color tones politely taunt the coming glum weather that is January to March by playing with hues in sinuous strokes, lending a relaxed sense of motion. But more, if the style of painting looks somewhat familiar, you wouldn’t be mistaken. The Museum of Modern Art in New York City would be, at this very moment, presenting an exhibition on Abstract Expressionism (Inventing Abstraction 1910-1925)—the early 20th century art not so unclearly hinted at in this collection. Relevent. And abstract. Link to the collection after the jump.
