After the successful partnership last year that resulted in the UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE collection, the retailer has decided to bring Christophe Lemaire permanently on board as the Artistic Director of UNIQLO PARIS R&D Center and the new Uniqlo U line. The designer has previously served as artistic director at classic French brands like Lacoste and Hermès, as well his own line, making him a clear choice for the Japanese brand’s Parisian sector. The Uniqlo U line, expected to be revealed in early July, adheres to the label’s philosophy of LifeWear: providing quality, comfortable clothing, something that particularly resonated with the designer. “In working on the UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE collection, I found UNIQLO’s commitment to product development, high quality, and teamwork truly impressive and inspirational,” Lemaire said in a statement. “It is a challenge and a joy for me to be part of the team designing UNIQLO LifeWear – everyday clothing that resonates with people worldwide.”
