BOSS x Konstantin Grcic Make Utilitarian Travel-Wear

In line with the BOSS campaign for its Fall/Winter 2019 collection that focused on travel, the German designer has collaborated with industrial designer Konstantin Grcic on a limited-edition capsule collection. The range — which includes a coat, jacket, and three t-shirts — perfectly epitomizes Grcic’s own utilitarian lens with the timeless poise of BOSS.

In order to create the jet-setting pieces, Grcic considered the functionality and accessibility of each garment. The coat features transparent pockets that are extremely useful when traveling but not too obtrusive. Contrastly, the jacket has an unconventional button layout that integrates the outer pockets and gives it a slick and sharp look, while its stretchy material ensures convenient mobility.

Both pieces focus on elements of industrial design that make them extremely adaptable to a variety of situations. “Travel has become dominated by traveling for work, and being perfectly equipped is just a necessary thing,” Grcic said in a statement. Further inspired by travel, he also designed three t-shirts that feature sketches of Milan’s architecture, New York’s skyline, and historical Shanghai city references. Each style is available in two colorways, including light gray, medium gray, navy, storm blue, and white.

For BOSS, collaborating with fellow German designer meant a unity of vision for a collection of modern travel necessities. As people continue to spend more time in the air and on the go, their comfort and utility are equally important to their personal style.
