What are John Varvatos, Billy Reid and Cole Haan's Phil Russo Doing at SXSW?
Maybe you’ve heard of that SXSW thing happening in Austin this week? Well, besides boasting the gold medal of acronyms and some of the best acts in music today, its also got a penchant for hosting some of the most raucous parties and a few notable pop-ups. So of course John Varvatos and Billy Reid are there…and one place you might want to catch them is at the first ever “The Neighborhood at 2nd Street District” presented by Avec Mode from March 11-14th. “The Neighborhood” is a style-centric showcase consisting of pop-up shops by emerging and established fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands as well as lively conversations (Ok, they say “panels” but this is SXSW…) featuring leaders in fashion, e-commerce, and technology. Varvatos & Reid will be featured speakers in an intimate Q&A session with HuffPost’s ‘Style Sessions’ (Reid, Tuesday @4PM & Varvatos, Thursday @4PM). The Neighborhood also boasts daily panel discussions (2PM & 4PM) that include guests like Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine and Cole Haan’s chief design officer, Phil Russo. “We really enjoy opportunities where creative spirits can overlap and music is a natural love for us. It one of the favorite parts of our jobs,” said Billy Reid. “The city of Austin and music really cannot be separate thoughts.
