Tumi's New Creative Director Also Makes Gorgeous Shoes
Tumi’s snagged the meticulous talents of George Esquivel, the man (pictured above) as the new creative director of their fine and functional line of internationally renown luggage. Yes, Mr. Esquivel, who has masterfully turned his small, handcrafted leather in shoe business into the apple of many a shoe aficionado eye. Shoe hounds already know—if you’ve got a big thing for custom leather shoes and have a lot of money to spend, you call Esquivel, who will now spend his time between his LA workshop and NYC in Tumi’s headquarters. You’ll find the first of his Tumi collections rolling out for the Holiday 2013 season. There are no previews just yet, but that’s fine—we like having things to look forward to and besides, we’ll never tire of perusing, with dreamy eyes, Esquivel’s brilliant footwear.
