TOPMAN SS13 AT LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN
Inspired by 80’s art icon Basquiat (and we’ll add—a hefty dose of Stephen Sprouse), the Spring/Summer 2013 Topman collection is populated by vibrant, stand-out goodies at almost every turn. The look is relaxed all the way – from chilled out cali to the ennui of downtown New York. Fluorescent orange threads pop on prince of whales check suiting with lose fitting, pleated, turned-up shorts. This is a look that is sure to permeate the streets next summer. Over-sized mesh tops in bright, fluorescent block colors are paired with coordinating knee-length shorts and worn with Technicolor trainers. Laser-cutting lends itself throughout the collection replacing pinstripes on loose fitting block color jackets and short, oversized mesh holes on jackets and suiting as well as soft suede belted bombers – while Loose gauge degradé knitted jumpers are worn long under matching cardigans and paired with printed pleat shorts. And finally the scoop neck sport shirts (offered in short cut or oversized) with simple, palindromic numbers on basic black, electric blue, pink are casual enough for lazing but versatile enough to turn into something more special. We love.
