3 At-Home Workouts to Keep You Busy

In the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it’s more important than ever to do whatever you can to stay healthy. In addition to washing your hands and social distancing, regular exercise is key to maintaining a strong immune system. If you aren’t able to hit up your regular crowded gym, here are some workouts you can practice from the comfort of your own home, no equipment (or human contact!) necessary. Here’s to feeling the burn — without the fever.

It’s recommended that most self-induced quarantines last 14 days which is enough time to complete a huge portion of this 22-day ab challenge. The good thing about this plan is that it encourages you to do each of the six core exercises “to extinction” which basically means until you can’t do any more reps. This ensures an intense workout regardless of skill level that will have your abs summer-ready in no time.

Chest health is absolutely crucial. This daily challenge incorporates different push-up forms including normal, staggered, and negative into one compact and vigorous 5-minute workout. And the clock on the screen is super helpful so you can follow the exercises in real-time — it’s always nice to see a finish line. This workout is definitely more about strength and endurance than reps but if you feel like it didn’t push you hard enough, feel free to do it again. It’s not like you’re going anywhere.

If you’re working remotely or just avoiding going outside in general, you gotta find a way to fit some cardio into your day. Here are 70 individual exercises to get the blood pumping — try mixing and matching exercises with 30-second sets and you’ll be totally ripped before you can even touch your face again.

Austin Augie & Bella Hadid Star in Latest MK Campaign

Swedish photographer Mikael Jansson shot the latest MICHAEL Michael Kors and the designer’s men’s campaign with supermodel Bella Hadid, Hiandra Martinez and BMX rider Austin Augie. The new video series for Spring 2020 finds each star walking through an airport (coronavirus-related travel fears be damned!) donning the American label’s latest travel-friendly apparel.

“The airport is where all adventures begin,” Kors said in a statement. “We wanted to take an experience that can feel mundane and infuse it with style and energy and the excitement that comes with traveling somewhere new.”

Augie sports a lightweight blue jacket adorned with an all-over print of the brand’s logo, as well as touting a two-toned backpack and oversized pair of athletic-inspired sunglasses. The upscale yet understated take on travel/leisurewear is a clear strength of the brand and can be seen in full force in the designer’s most recent collection.

A Portrait of a Dystopian Future by Balenciaga

Balenciaga seems to have made the pivot to video with the launch of its own newsroom ‘BLNCG Live’ seen in the designer’s Summer 2020 campaign. The first broadcast (directed by Will Benedict) is a real, almost Lynchian, trip complete with a dark and ambient wordless soundtrack. An ambitious crew of model-turned news anchors with mouths dubbed over like Sims avatars highlights key issues like the upcoming election (and how youth are instrumental in its outcome — ‘RECORD TURNOUT DRIVEN BY YOUNG PEOPLE’ a potentially prescient headline reads) and more broadly, WHERE IS THE WATER GOING?

There’s also the promising notion that traffic jams are gone (‘NO MORE TRAFFIC JAMS!’ an eager headline exclaims) but as a result, PEDESTRIANS ARE BACK, including an animated plastic bag that seems to have resisted being recycled and adopted human living mechanisms as its own, proudly crossing the street alongside model-like civilians dressed in the Spanish designer’s summer collection and sporting the Hello Kitty bag. There’s no explanation for anything but there doesn’t need to be — this is the future that Balenciaga wants. Or maybe just a preview of the end of the world. Either way, take a look at the weirdly brilliant campaign above.

Watch the First Trailer for the Margiela Documentary

Martin Margiela is the man behind some of the most recognized fashion designs of the last century. From his signature tabi boots to the opaque veils models routinely wore when walking in his shows, his presence over the industry continues to reign. Yet the man behind the seams of the revelatory creations has managed to remain virtually invisible throughout his groundbreaking 30-year career.

“I don’t like the idea of being a celebrity,” a voiceover, who we can assume to be Margiela himself but one can never be sure, says in the trailer for the upcoming documentary chronicling his career. “Anonymity is very important.”

Martin Margiela: In His Own Words made its world premiere last year at the Doc NYC Film Festival. It marks one of the first times the eponymous designer, who has seldom granted an interview and hardly ever been photographed, goes on the record to discuss his work. In addition to revisiting memorable runway moments, like the infamous hair jackets that first debuted in 2009, and providing interviews with peers like Jean Paul Gaultier, the documentary offers a rare glimpse behind the curtain of the most intriguing French designers of all time.

Tragically, there’s still no word on when the film will be released. Until then, watch the trailer for Martin Margiela: In His Own Words above now.

Watch the Super Bowl 54 Halftime Performance Now

For everything wrong the Super Bowl stands for, they can still put on one hell of a show. Case in point: the holy union of Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, who graced the television of over 100 million Americans with their legendary halftime performance.  The show is everything a TV performance should be: epic in ambition, a reminder of forgotten bops from year’s past (thank you for resurrecting the flawlessness that is “She Wolf”), and a perfect vehicle to unite two performers that would never perform together otherwise. Shakira and Lopez were also joined by current reggaeton stars J Balvin and Bad Bunny, and the cultural pride was loud and clear in one of the most Latinx Super Bowl performances ever. Plus, there was even a Led Zeppelin interlude and JLo recreated her underrated pole dance routine from Hustlers — really, just pure quality television in every way imaginable. And I don’t even know which teams were playing this year.

Jonah Hill Directed the Latest Adidas Video Campaign

For its latest campaign, Adidas tapped actor Jonah Hill to direct and star in a new video. He’s in good company — in the new campaign, titled “Change is a Team Sport,” Hill stars alongside Pharrell, Yara Shahidi, Blondey McCoy, and Jenn Soto. The visual is the first part of an ongoing brand initiative that will showcase new disruptors and rising stars across industries. In the video, Soto sports a pair of the brand’s Superstar sneakers as she maneuvers through the best first-day-of-school ever, all the while Hill shares words of encouragement over the intercom. Avoiding the general crippling awkwardness of the high school experience, the whole thing is pretty wholesome.

Exclusive: A First Look at Fendi Men’s Spring/Summer 2020 Campaign

We return to “somewhere in Northern Italy” for the latest Fendi campaign. The Italian designer opted for the lush setting of the Italian countryside to accompany the Spring/Summer 2020 which was heavily inspired by botanical themes. Classic men’s looks, including overalls, cargo pants, other workwear-inspired pieces, and tailored ensembles are reimagined through a fresh and bucolic lens. Overseen by longstanding creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi and with the help of Luca Guadagnino, the Academy Award-nominated visionary behind Call Me By Your Name and Suspiria who shot the images, the visuals are the perfect complement to the pieces that are grounded by an earthy color palette of greens, beiges, and browns.
