This week’s complete social snapshot, distilled for your pleasure.
From the hottest celebrity parties to the regretful morning-after shots, ESSENTIAL HOMME‘s Weekly Instagram Roundup brings all of the hottest designer, model, and trendsetting pics from the week directly to you. After all, no one has time to scroll through anything but the best.
Mr. Porter
Online fashion haven Mr. Porter shared a tantalizing look at its upcoming Gucci collaboration with just a single pair of light-tinted lenses. Similar to those featured in the Italian house’s Spring/Summer 2017 eyewear campaign, with just a slight bridge alteration, the image heralds a collection that could follow the same print-heavy, color-crazed Gucci looks of late, should the decadent accompanying video, available only on the account’s Instagram story, be any hint.
Jimmy Choo
Jimmy Choo released a first look at its Pre-Fall 2017 line, turning its focus from the sensual edge of last year’s aesthetic towards a more simplified ethos. Approaching the looks with a dependable and long-lasting hand, the British brand seems to have found its stride—matching Spring/Summer 2017‘s everyday sensibility with the darker tones of the colder season.
Todd Snyder
Despite the unconventional approach to Todd Snyder‘s Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, don’t expect the American brand to shed its vintage heritage without a fight. Highlighting golf pros Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan as style icons to reflect on, the label showcased the correct way to wear a polo with an aim to promote its latest update to the classic piece, all Italian cotton silk.
Jean Paul Gaultier
The controversial designer Jean Paul Gaultier, unveiled a quick look at his latest fragrance, capitalizing on the popularity of YouTube unboxing videos with a model-filled rendition of his own. Entitled #funboxing, the made-in-France brand showcased its Classique and Le Male scents in a characteristically on-tone effort from the Enfant Terrible himself.
Lindberg Eyewear
Danish optical authority Lindberg Eyewear threw it back to 2014 London Fashion Week where it turned heads with a dazzling projection show displayed across several of the rainy city’s monuments. A favorite of both Matt Damon and ESSENTIAL HOMME June/July 2016 cover star Nick Jonas, the bespectacled brand, since Big Ben and River Thames takeover, has seen its image reworked through rounded monocled silhouettes and a look back at discreet design traditions.
Long a champion of classic American style, Todd Snyder shifted out of its comfort zone for Autumn/Winter 2017, showcasing light layers and unconventional materials to craft a poised line of refined tailoring.

Entering new territory, Todd Snyder‘s first outerwear-focused collection sees an assortment of bombers, coats, leather jackets, and everything in between, finished with the cool urban qualities that make Snyder a wardrobe favorite.
American designer Todd Snyder just launched his namesake label’s secondary collection, White Label, exclusively at Nordstrom, featuring Savile Row tailoring and classic formalwear styles of suits, sport coats, dress shirts, and neckwear in contemporary patterns and cuts designed for the modern man. The centerpiece of the collection is the “Mayfair” suit, which features exquisite craftsmanship, as exhibited in its soft natural shoulders, canvas interlining, narrow lapels, and the herringbone-patterned felt beneath the collar. Other pieces, such as flannel chalk striped sport coats, similarly feature luxury trimmings and distinctive linings, utilizing fabrics sourced from the United Kingdom and Italy.

The entire collection will be available at the Nordstrom Men’s Shop in select Nordstrom stores and online.
Before any awards are handed out at the CFDA awards on June 3rd, those nominated for the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent got to have a little fun. Namely, by creating “objets d’art” out of nothing less than a mountain of Swarovski crystals. The pieces were revealed today and go on sale at New York City Boutique Fivestory. The collection is almost more exciting than, well, the awards, if that’s at all possible and in effect, makes each of the designers a winner in our book. Among our favorites? Suno’s crystalized cactus, Tod Snyder’s bejeweled New Balance Sneakers, Tim Coppens crown-like helmut and Public School’s BMX creation. Check out the entirety of the collection below.

With all the buzz around CFDA Swarovski Crystal Menswear Award Nominee Todd Snyder, we’re guessing that his first ever sample sale, taking place this weekend, might be a little grabby. Civilized, of course, but also…competitive. Some strategy on how to make the most of the sale—or really any men’s sample sale, along with details of this one, after the jump.
1—Bring a beautiful girl who loves to flirt. She’ll hopefully distract some of the other guys your size. And bonus if you trust her sense of style—she can give you some advice on how the fairer sex may feel about the looks you’re culling together and also, double your grab time by snagging things your size off the rack before the other guys.
2—Drink your coffee before you get there. Yes, you want to be caffeinated, and thus quick, but also, you lose valuable hand space, not to mention increase your risk of embarrassing spills.
3—Go offline. No pain, no gain and for every second you’re texting, instagraming, facebooking, emailing, working, bla bla bla, some other dude your size is closer to that shirt you had your eye on.
4—Check out what might be at the sale before hand.Todd Snyer’s website is here. Looking at what you think might work first, trains your eye to find it when you first arrive.
5—Dress appropriately. Not the day to wear your skinniest jeans or sweater that’s annoying to get out of. Think date night. Also, wear clothing—shoes, socks, pants, shirts, jackets, ect, that you might actually wear with the designer you’re shopping. Your imagination isn’t always right and returns are rarely possible.
6—Come prepared. Cash, Credit and ample time will help you make the best decisions.
