Get Your Hands on the Heron Preston x UGG Collab Now

Heron Preston and UGG come together for a second collection that features a modern workwear-inspired winter boot. The collection first debuted during Paris Fashion Week in January, but the long-awaited collab has finally dropped just in time for the season.

The new footwear incorporates the classic ankle boot from Ugg in suede with a modern twist from Heron Preston. The new boot has three new main features such as yellow pull tabs, with a label that pragmatically reads “pull.” The boots also have a futuristic translucent rubber outer sole, contrasted by the designer’s classic orange tag on the side. The attractive materials of the boot make it unique and stylish, yet still practical for the upcoming winter.

The Heron Preston X UGG collection is available online now.

A Heron Preston x UGG Collab is Coming Next Month

Just yesterday Telfar revealed an upcoming collab with Converse during its Spring/Summer 2020 presentation in Paris, but now another capsule is making the rounds. After debuting its collaboration with UGG earlier this year, Heron Preston announced the forthcoming collection will drop next month. The American designer incorporated his signature street edge into some of the Australian footwear brand’s most popular styles. The Classic Mini and Tasman models have been redone in fluorescent orange and some tie-dye patterns and updated with mesh, suede, contrasting stitching, and pull tabs.

The Heron Preston x UGG collection will be available in UGG stores and online.

Farfetch Just Bought Off-White’s Parent Company

New Guards Group, the Milan-based conglomerate that owns many beloved streetwear brands, including Off-White, Palm Angels, and Heron Preston, has just been purchased by online fashion platform Farfetch for a solid $675 million.

“The addition of New Guards’ brand platform brings a creative and industrial dimension to our suite of capabilities which, combined with our community of more than 650 boutiques, enables us to power and promote both new and existing creative names in the luxury industry to build the brands of the future,” CEO of Farfeth José Neves said in a statement.

With this new acquisition, the company is fully committed to investing in tomorrow’s talent. Additionally, it’s likely that Heron Preston and Off-White will continue to run and operate on their own without interference.

UGG x Eckhaus Latta Release FW19 Campaign Collab

UGG and Eckhaus Latta have released a joint campaign for Fall/Winter 2019. Shot in Santa Barbara by Zoe Ghertner, the panoramic images showcase the technical aspects of the pieces countered against the raw elements of the outdoors.

UGG has enjoyed a recent resurgence from darling ’00s cult item to high-fashion status — Y/Project, Kith, and Heron Preston are only a few that have released their own take on the beloved footwear. Eckhaus Latta, the Los Angeles-based label known for its deconstructed and genderless clothes, is only the latest to harness that energy and help usher in a proper return of Aughts fashion cues. In addition to releasing a traditional grey boot and black slide with green shearling, the collaborative effort includes four outerwear pieces. The dramatic overcoat (lined with sheepskin) is an obvious showstopper with big Fight Club energy, while the other items — a shawl coat, a light jacket, and a vest — are more casual options.

The UGG x Eckhaus Latta collection will launch on September 6 at select stores and online. Check out more images from the campaign in the gallery above.

Ugg x Heron Preston Makes Fashion Week Debut

Ugg continues to reposition itself as a high-fashion novelty. During Paris Fashion Week Men’s, Heron Preston debuted its latest collaboration with the Australian footwear brand during its Fall/Winter ’19 show. The newest effort — the two previously partnered on a limited line of footwear which launched at Coachella last April — reimagines signature Ugg models with Preston’s street aesthetic. Three key styles (two boots and a slipper) are reimagined with fluorescent color details and utilitarian branding, adding a new level of edge to the beloved artifact of the ’00s.

The Heron Preston x Ugg collection will be released in September. Check out the styles below.

Heron Preston Puts Vladimir Putin’s Face on a T-Shirt

For better or for worse, fashion continues to be political. Cult streetwear label Heron Preston is now selling a black T-shirt with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s face, and the words “Mr.President” embellished with crystals on it for $594 at KM20, a popular concept store in Moscow. Heron’s position can be viewed as a direct political position or instead an ironic conversation starter in regards to the controversial politician.

The bold move comes just days before the Russian presidential election on March 18th which Putin is expected to win for a fourth time. Amidst the political environment are also headlines of a poisoning of a former Russian spy in England, and ongoing rumors of intervention in the United States presidential election in 2016.

The American designer confesses to have no interest in politics and simply emphasizes the inspiration he finds in Russian style, which inspired the partnership with KM20. Famous for attracting Russia’s “golden youth,” the boutique is known for surprising collaborations, edgy trends, and risky moves. While the T-shirt is currently branded as a a tourist souvenir, the hefty price, subject, and timing suggest are leading critics to label it propaganda. See for yourself in the comments below.

Shop the Trend: Fanny Packs

Happy Holidays! We select the year’s biggest trends and how to shop them in this easy guide. This week: Fanny Packs.

Fanny packs. They were popular in the 80s, then again in the 90s, then again back in ‘08 thanks to that neo-80s nostalgia that was dominating the cultural landscape, and again now. So I guess technically they never really left. Anyways, this year the pouch returned and moved up the social ladder and physical body this year after it was seen worn as a shoulder bag on the runways of Louis Vuitton and Supreme. No longer limited to the fanny, it became one of the year’s biggest trends, seen on every cool downtown kid I went to school with and models off duty alike. Happy Cyber Monday~

versaceGo big or go home. This is Versace. This black leather belt pouch comes with the label’s famed Medusa head logo in gold. Wear this to store snacks when you watch American Crime Story: Versace when it airs in the spring.

$1095 at Versace and at Ssense.

jimmy-chooThis Jimmy Choo leather fanny pack comes with embossed with a detailed star print pattern — it’s cute! Perfect accessory to wear when you see The Star in theatres. Mariah Carey released a song for it. Queen of Christmas at it again!!

$895 at Ssense.

heron-prestonThis bright little Heron Preston pouch will never be lost in your closet thanks to its handy traffic cone color. It’s also made of nylon so it’s basically waterproof. Perfect for achieving that cool construction worker look.

$340 at Heron Preston.

supreme
Okay, so the Supreme x Louis Vuitton bag that started it all is out of stock, unless you wanna spend like a jillion dollars for resale on Grailed or eBay. But this waist bag from the skate brand — complete with the signature blunt logo — should suffice.

$126 at Supreme.

herschelYou want utility? You want function? You want simplicity? Herschel Supply Co. Bam. Go back to basics with this timeless and sturdy little number that will still be intact and in style when fanny packs become popular again in 10 years.

$30 at Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Zumiez, etc, and online.

In His Own Words: Heron Preston Set to Tackle Sustainability through Uniform Collection

Artist and creative powerhouse Heron Preston partners with the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) to bring “Uniform,” a new collection with its finger on the pulse of national sustainability. Created from recycled workwear and debuting September 7th at the iconic New York Salt Shed, the line is an artistic interpretation of DSNY’s 0x30 initiative, a vow to send zero waste to landfills by the year 2030. Heron Preston muses this topic and his own creative ventures in his own words below.

Q: What drew you to this project and made you want to get involved?

Back in July, 2015 I was frustrated with work. I reached out to my friend Darrel Rhea, an innovation consultant, for some advice. I heard him do a talk at Parsons when I was a student there in 2004. I was like I want that guy to be my mentor! When I reached out to him back in July, one thing lead to the next and he ended up asking me, “Do you have an interest in applying design to tackling wicked problems like healthcare?” I knew I did care about wicked problems, but I had never challenged myself on what that was.
