Go Hard and Cool Off at S10

If you’re the type who likes their workout to really destroy them, S10 in the West Village is waiting for you. With a highly-devised workout program designed by a team of top-notch trainers, the newly opened boutique fitness center is the perfect venue to live out your full boot camp fantasy. Private one-on-one sessions are available for personalized results-direct training — each trainer has a specialty ranging from strength to endurance to performance depending on what your #bodygoals are — but if you’re the type who likes an audience, semi-private group courses are also available. Either way, if there’s any gym that’s gonna train you to do 1000 push-ups, it’s this one.

After you’re done feeling the burn and then some, the S10 Recovery Spa is there to help you cool down by sweating it out. Members have the option of six tranquil suites each equipped with an infrared sauna, steam room, and sunken bath for total post-workout relaxation. After straining my neck while attempting a 22-day abs challenge (this one, in case you were wondering), it was the perfect remedy. I could feel every toxin being pulled out of my young flesh while lounging in the sauna, and then again in the steam room before I took the first proper bath I’ve taken in years because I don’t have a bathtub in my apartment. It was pretty blissful. They even let you control the music so you can soundtrack your own serene experience. (I listened to Norman Fucking Rockwell! by Lana del Rey, in case you were wondering.)

Later this spring, the location will open a cafe stocked with healthy dining options and snacks because, after all, abs are made in the kitchen. From intensive training to intensive cool down, it’s clear that S10 has all the facilities to make you look and feel like a perfect ten.

HAOMA

HAOMA Introduces Plant and CBD Based Skincare

With such a heavy emphasis on adopting healthier eating habits and sustainable fashion purchases, it’s only natural that the products that we use should be as clean and close to Earth as possible. HAOMA is just the latest cruelty-free plant-based grooming brand concocted by a team of artists, herbalists, and scientists.

Going back to the basics of what skincare should really consist of, HAOMA takes to cannabidiol (CBD) for their first three products: a day cream, night cream, and eye cream. While the name of the brand comes from a divine plant in Persian culture used in drinks and rituals, the brand is focusing on the semi-420-friendly grooming-active du jour. Known for its high anti-inflammatory and calming qualities, this plant does blend both nature and science, and even art is its own particular way.

HAOMA

The company was founded on the principle that nature has the ability to heal and nourish the human body, mind, and spirit. From California to New York City, the brand will be marrying its main principles and reintroducing the mystery and power of plants. The brand will also support other issues including sustainability by promoting the recycling of its products.

HAOMA products will be available online and at select Neiman Marcus locations later this month.

Scotch Porter Does CBD Beard Care

CBD has established itself as the ingredient of 2018. Cannabis-infused products have been popping up everywhere recently, more notably among the grooming and wellness spaces. The rising grooming brand, Scotch Porter, just launched a four-piece, limited-edition CBD-infused beard collection, comprised of a wash, a conditioner, a balm, and a serum.

“CBD is definitely a trendy ingredient right now, but there is a large opportunity in grooming because of its abilities with skin sensitivities, like eczema, dryness, irritation, and flakiness,” said founder Scotch Porter in an interview with Glossy. So far the brand has only infused the wonders of CBD to their beard collection, and for now, there are no plans to release any immediate further collections. Here’s hoping that changes as CBD continues to infiltrate the grooming sphere.

Take your beard game to the next level with the collection available online now.

It’s Been A Long Week: If You Like Piña Colada

If You Like Pina Colada

As true believers of the work hard, play hard mantra, we present you with It’s Been a Long Week, a weekly column aimed at awarding some liquid appreciation to you for just being yourself, dammit. Make yourself a glass or two, on us —  you deserve it.

There’s a new rooftop + pool in town, this time in Brooklyn at the Williamsburg Hotel. On sweaty hot NYC days, lounge around at the pool and make sure to grab a drink, too. If You Like Piña Colada is exactly what you need. Infused with CBD, it’s almost a molecular take on your typical piña colada — the NYC version so to speak. Available at the restaurant and lobby bar, a tweaked version of the cocktail is also available on the roof. But if you can’t make it out, here’s the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Kikori Japanese rice whiskey
  • 1 oz Singani 63 infused with CBD oil
  • 0.75 oz Coconut milk
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lime juice
  • 1.5 oz Pineapple juice

If You Like Pina Colada_Ingredients

Method:

  1. In a bottle of Singani, pour 0.6 oz of CBD oil in, and stir the mix for 2 minutes
  2. Shake all ingredients with ice
  3. Serve in a cat cup with ice (or a nice snifter glass) and garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel topped with coconut flakes burned by using a blow torch (or toasted under a broiler).

ENJOY!

The Williamsburg Hotel is located at 96 Wythe Ave., Brooklyn.

HORA‘s newest serum does a combination of wonders that one can only dream about in ONE product: hydrate, protect and heal, with the help of CBD. Not only does this super Serum improve acne, it also has anti-aging properties. A true double-threat.

This tiny black bottle from the Californian brand includes all the super ingredients that probably exist on your counter anyway including rose-hip and argan oils, and Vitamins A and C.  The unexpected ingredient to top of this nourishing cocktail is CBD, the non-psychoactive part of cannabis. CBD is an antioxidant even more powerful that Vitamin C, E, A, or omega 3 fatty acids and is thus more productive in the regulation of the cell lifecycle.  Its anti-inflammatory properties also act as an antibacterial agent protect skin against acne and/or blemishes. Simply put: CBD helps the skin stay radiant and look young. Stock up on it while you still can.
