Patrick Dempsey Develops Limited Edition Porsche Design Watch
The latest collaboration between the German luxury house Porsche Design and Hollywood actor and founder of the motorsport racing team Dempsey Racing, Patrick Dempsey, combines precision and high-speed technology into one sophisticated—and entirely titanium!—timepiece. An evolution of one of the brand’s milestone chronograph released almost 20 years ago—then, the world’s first all-titanium watch—the Porsche Design Dempsey Racing Limited Edition is a self-winding mechanical chronograph with a calibre ETA Valjoux 7753. The piece’s matte black dial is contrasted with luminous white numerals and features date indication, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, and small second viewing. Overtop sits a non-reflective sapphire crystal contained in a brushed titanium case and bracelet—an anti-allergic metal used specifically in motorsports. As a whole the chronograph, in the words of Demspey, is designed to “capture what it is like to be on the race track—fighting for every hundredth of a second.”
