Next up in NikeLab’s Summer of Sport collaborations–a series of collections leading up to the Rio Olympic Games, including partnerships with Riccardo Tisci and Olivier Rousteing–is Kim JonesPackable Sport Style. Known for being at the forefront of integrating street style into high fashion, the designer’s history moving between the two worlds (he’s currently the Artistic Director of Men’s at Louis Vuitton) allows for a collection completely distinct from his predecessors. The special project is inspired by the ceaseless travel of professional athletes and Jones’s long history with travel himself, documented in a new video from NikeLab. “Travel is a sport,” says Jones in the short film. “I was thinking about flat-packing and how things could be as small as possible.” The designer goes on to demonstrate how the clothes use Nike’s technology to create sportswear that packs easily while still looking stylish, compromising neither functionality nor fashion. The collection boasts a series of clothing and accessories, including Jones’ own sneaker, the Air Zoom LWP, which combines elements of the Zoom 95 and the Air Max 1. The collection mixes punchy neons and crisp neutrals, drawing inspiration from ’80’s sportswear and reinterpreting it with modern sensibilities.

Packable Sport Style will be available on July 23, 2016 online and in select NikeLab stores.
