Moncler is partnering with Off-White visionary Virgil Abloh for an exclusive capsule collection for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season. Entitled Moncler O, the collaboration features a series of cold weather outerwear, inspired by North Sea fishermen and a myriad of other nautical tropes. Oversized trousers—a silhouette that dominated Off-White’s recent Spring/Summer 2017 runway presentation—long jackets, puffer coats, and parkas are given the utmost weatherproofing, while still maintaining the streetwear edge pervasive of Abloh’s designs. The Off-White diagonal stripes and Moncler logo both find a home on the pieces, embossed on the PVCs, checkered nylons, and wool crêpes, designed to ensure the utmost warmth. Neither entirely street nor workwear, the collection takes cues from a diverse set of perspectives to create a truly creative collaboration.
