Living with Hermès

Les Nécessaires d’Hermès

There are few male-friendly counterparts that rival the prestige of Hermès’ Birkin bag. But, perhaps with the Parisian fashion house’s newly launched furniture, fabrics and wallpaper collection, Les Nécessaires d’Hermès, the gap is slowly narrowing—and what better place for that to occur than in a man’s own castle?

Conceived by legendary designer Philippe Nigro, the living set plays off the idea of “essential necessities” which today translates into uncluttered, multi-functional and well-crafted design, including: structured shell seating, grooming stands carved out of Canaletto walnut wood , Hermès-printed farbic screens, and many more.

As Nigro describes Les Nécessaires d’Hermès, the pieces “exude casual, light elegance with their original shapes, surprising hidden functions and noble materials recalling Hermès’ heritage.” And yet, in spite of this homage, there is an elevated modernism to the design that brings the iconic brand to life—to today.

Les Nécessaires d’Hermès is available exclusively at Hermés’ Beverly Hills and Madison Avenue boutiques and will be offered as a permanent collection in the Hermès Maison Universe.
