Taking the surreal nature of its Pre-Fall 2017 collection and applying a film of uninhibited masculinity and freeform expressionism overtop, Gucci‘s latest campaign breathes life into a line of joint celebratory and exploratory charm. Feeding off the portraiture of Malick Sidibeì, haunting images that spoke to a post-colonial Mali, the prints are riotous in nature yet profound in execution, choosing to challenge and provoke through a high-intensity dance medium. Featuring Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s decadent touch, the Glen Luchford-shot campaign is an expressive take on England’s quick-tempo Northern Soul movement.
