Swedish “intellectual slackers” WeAretheSuperlativeConspiracy tease us with an exciting peek of an exclusive product line celebrating artist and pop culture critic Andy Warhol that drops next year. In collaboration with the artist’s foundation the collection—entitled Warhol Conspiracy by WeSC—will consist of a range of products featuring six different patterns of Warhol’s famous camouflage paintings and prints, divided into two seasonal assortments. Clothing is set to include jackets, shirts, shorts, hoodies, bags, and even limited edition skateboards, complemented by an offering of T-shirts with Warhol quotes and self-portraits. Yesterday, American outdoor-wear suppliers Woolrich unveiled their first standalone store in North America, located at 125 Wooster Street in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. Paris clothiers Sandro just opened its first U.S. menswear store, Sandro Homme Workshop: a temporary retail space/revolving art studio in New York City that spotlights young and emerging contemporary artists. Created to meet the increasing male demand for the brand, the boutique’s physical structure is inspired by Sandro’s Fall/Winter 2014-2015 campaign and features live art instillations until the end of the year, with each selected artist having a week to utilize the workshop as his or her own personal studio. The first resident-artist is An Hoang, whose paintings reference personal experiences of nature and the urban environment, evoking the spirit and atmosphere of each place. Hoang recently had a solo exhibition at Halsey McKay Gallery, East Hampton, NY, and her abstract style complements the store’s minimalist interior.

Rapper and entrepreneur will.i.am presents his first eyewear collection, ill.i Optics, in partnership with designer George Gorrow, co-founder of Australian fashion label Ksubi. The release reinterprets rare vintage styles, drawing inspiration from 1980s hip-hop pioneers and graffiti characters, as well as moments from will.i.am’s early career. Glasses feature material combinations of acetate and metal, as well as diverse finishes and innovative technical components, making each pair a standout piece and utilizing Garrow’s background in experimental eyewear design.

Last night’s Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2015 runway show featured an immersive audio collaboration with it-headphones brand Beats By Dre. Guests—including industry heavyweights and celebrities such as Anna Wintour, Andre Leon Talley, Grace Coddington, and Baz Luhrmann—each wore a pair of Beats headphones to tune into an instrumental track and vocal narrative overlaying the show, a concept conceived by composer and record producer Steve Mackey, along with Beats’ creative team and designer Marc Jacobs himself. With the Apple acquisition and upcoming Fendicollaboration, the audio listening device company is certainly are having a good year.
American designer Todd Snyder just launched his namesake label’s secondary collection, White Label, exclusively at Nordstrom, featuring Savile Row tailoring and classic formalwear styles of suits, sport coats, dress shirts, and neckwear in contemporary patterns and cuts designed for the modern man. The centerpiece of the collection is the “Mayfair” suit, which features exquisite craftsmanship, as exhibited in its soft natural shoulders, canvas interlining, narrow lapels, and the herringbone-patterned felt beneath the collar. Other pieces, such as flannel chalk striped sport coats, similarly feature luxury trimmings and distinctive linings, utilizing fabrics sourced from the United Kingdom and Italy.

Continuing their successful collaboration, American brands J.Crew and New Balance recently unveiled a limited edition sneaker, the J. Crew x New Balance 998 Concrete Jungle. Inspired by the sights and sounds of a night out on the town, the made-in-America shoe sports a popping “deconstructed” camo colorway, well suited to the brands’ 998 silhouette. The release will be available for pre-sale starting this Saturday, September 13, 2014, and will be in select stores in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, San Francisco, Honolulu, London, and Hong Kong, as well as at online beginning Wednesday, September 17, 2014.
