Check out the Latest John Elliott x Lebron James x NIKE Drop

Los Angeles-based brand John Elliott collaborated with Lebron James on a Nike Icon Collection that includes a basketball shoe and a range of athletic-inspired apparel. The collection is characterized by earthy tones and subtle prints, including a military option, which are more evocative of the outdoors than the gym.

The Icon QS sneaker is obviously the star of the collection, giving the basketball shoe a more casual tone. The apparel includes a hoodie, long-sleeve T-shirt, pants, and other staple pieces. The earthy and neutral theme of the collection was inspired by Elliott’s childhood home — a coastal ranch in Northern California. The hues thus come from this place where the sea meets open land, sand, and the sky.

The John Elliott x Lebron James x NIKE range is available online at JohnElliott.com.

John Elliott x Caterpillar Launch Iridescent Workwear

Workwear continues to dominate as one of the biggest trends of the moment, with construction uniform staples like carpenter pants and utility vests making their way through numerous collections and street style shots alike. For a new collaboration, Los Angeled-based label John Elliott took a conceptual route in its collaboration with construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar, delivering an elevated take on workwear pieces inspired by the construction of a coastal dream home.

Elliott went deep into Caterpillar’s extensive workwear archives to create a visually striking and highly functional collection. The designer incorporated Caterpillar’s 3M logo with reflective material to contrast the utilitarian structures of the pieces, including trousers, shorts, windbreakers, and sweatshirts, which were themselves constructed with premium materials like shiny Italian nylon. The pieces are grounded with a neutral color palette (the result of a new double-dye process) that prevents them from being too flashy and instead remain committed to practical design.

The John Elliott x Caterpillar launches online and in select stores tomorrow.

John Elliott Autumn/Winter 2017 Campaign

John Elliott AW17

Dubbed Stretch the Floor, John Elliott‘s Autumn/Winter 2017 campaign is a contemplative peak behind the youthful, cultural synergy that occurs during summer basketball divisions. Cherry-picking themes from the mindset of players thrust together by talent and passion, the 10th anniversary images, shot by Patrick Maus, instill a feeling of apprehension, expanding the electric moment preceding a game’s initial whistle. With the collection’s unsettling stillness reflected in the pensive imagery, the campaign situates itself beneath the brand’s overarching, comfort-zone pushing umbrella.

Weekly Instagram Roundup: Plein Sport, Loewe, and More

This week’s complete social snapshot, distilled for your pleasure.

From the hottest celebrity parties to the regretful morning-after shots, ESSENTIAL HOMME‘s Weekly Instagram Roundup brings all of the hottest designer, model, and trendsetting pics from the week directly to you. After all, no one has time to scroll through anything but the best.

Plein Sport

Taking the stage at NYC’s Vision Expo—the celebration for visionaries in spectacle education, fashion, and technology—sportswear brand Plein Sport, an off-shoot of the envelope-pushing Philipp Plein, brought its line of athletic, multi-colored eyewear to the masses. Having premiered its warrior-driven Autumn/Winter 2017 runway at Milan Fashion Week, the brand continues its streak of combining athletic-wear with unapologetic design in this classroom-inspired getup.

Loewe

Loewe Creative Director J.W.Anderson has kept himself very busy. From an upcoming Pitti Uomo presentation to a just announced Uniqlo collection, the designer is poised to experience his grand second coming. Following his most recent museum curative project, Anderson brings Loewe’s Spanish sensibilities to Salone del Mobile—the largest global furniture fair held in Milan—to showcase its sleek home goods line, a brazen mix of cultural inspirations and artistic expression.

Giovanni Squatriti

Fashion photographer and frequent ESSENTIAL HOMME collaborator Giovanni Squatriti expanded his polaroid portfolio with the help of model Francisco Lachowski. Posing next to an Hermes bust, the insta-ready images continue a lucrative partnership between the pair, one that first reared its head within the EH family in April/May 2014.

John Elliott

John Elliott‘s popular Watching Water series receives a casual update alongside retail shop United Arrows & Sons with a selection of exclusive tees based on the same oceanic principles. Featuring roiling imagery of power and tranquility, the pieces are a more relaxed iteration of the thematic elements in the brand’s NYFWM Spring/Summer 2017 runway—where vibrant palettes and watery tones took center stage.

Armani

Milan’s premiere shopping center ups its street credibility with the addition of Armani/Casa, the latest from the Italian brand’s brick-and-mortar locations. Featuring the iconically modular collection known to the house’s furniture offerings, the new flagship will see architecture rub elbows with interior decor as minimalist home goods pair with a state-of-the-art interior design service, aiming to integrate living spaces with conceptual progression.

Weekly Instagram Roundup: John Elliott, Rick Owens, and More

This week’s complete social snapshot, distilled for your pleasure.

From the hottest celebrity parties to the regretful morning-after shots, ESSENTIAL HOMME‘s Weekly Instagram Roundup brings all of the hottest designer, model, and trendsetting pics from the week directly to you. After all, no one has time to scroll through anything but the best.

Rick Owens

Perennial adidas favorite Rick Owens embraces his manic, otherworldly design ethics to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Dover Street Market Ginza. The limited edition tee joins the ranks of other designers—Thom Browne, Sibling, Off-White, Dries Van Noten—who have all contributed prints to honor the Japanese luxury hotspot. Owens’ contribution features the familiar logo reworked in a precarious toppling pyramid and includes a small look at the Cali-born visionary’s Spring/Summer 2017 Walrus collection, a theatrical production of stern tailoring and playful proportions.

Jeremy Chardy

French tennis superstar Jeremy Chardy shared a fun-filled image of his recent Lacoste shoot, following his win at this year’s Miami Open. A fervent fan of the brand—you’d be hard-pressed to find a picture of the player wearing anything but the croc—Chardy is a prime example of Lacoste’s well-groomed ideal. Pictured here with his fiancée and model Susan Gossage, the image brings Lacoste back to its sportswear best, a slight departure from the street-ready edge found in the brand’s recent Supreme collaboration.

Future

ESSENTIAL HOMME August/September 2015 cover star Future shared a behind-the-scenes look at his latest video shoot, alongside the Weeknd, for their song “Comin Out Strong.” Filming in Toronto, the “Wicked” rapper rocked out in an embroidered Spring/Summer 2017 Gucci coat, the “Starboy” himself kicking it in some Vetements x Dr. Martens boots, to create a hyperreal interpretation of his HNDRXX rising hit, released just last month.

John Elliott

After celebrating its 10th anniversary during New York Fashion Week: Men’s for Autumn/Winter 2017, John Elliott takes a step backwards to fill out its Spring/Summer 2017 Watching Waters collection. Pictured below are a pair of pale pink Lows, released to join the ranks of its unfussy summer line and compliment the easygoing, pastel purity. A much lighter fare than previous brand releases—the recent Loopwheel collection a furrowed brow of hardened energy—the footwear pairs perfectly with the summer rider’s jacket at night or oversized sweats for daytime. As with any John Elliott piece, wardrobing is key.

Pietro Boselli

Former math professor turned male model Pietro Boselli showed how to vacation the fashion-conscious way while lounging beachside and sipping on a zucchini shake. Most recently seen walking the Milan Autumn/Winter 2017 runway for Plein Sport, where he showed off the graphic jogging trousers from the young brand’s ferocious line, the fitness guru took to the Philippines to spend some time at the Two Seasons Coron, following a philanthropic visit to a local school.

John Elliott Spring/Summer 2017 Lookbook

[slider_pro id=”109″]

Image: John Elliott.

John Elliott is said to have conceived his eponymous brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, Season 9, while reflecting upon the notion of luxury: “What is luxury, and the definition at the end of the day?” he asked himself. The answer? “It’s watching waters on a yacht.” So began Watching Water, his latest lookbook offering set among tranquil waters and seaside homes. Staying true to the minimalist style that shot the Los Angeles-based brand to fame, the collection eschews prints, patterns, and embellishments, honoring the power in classic cuts and unfussy styles. A soft leather jacket features in salmon-pink and indigo, beside a two-tone gray windcheater accented with ultramarine blue. Pastels and grays complement softer fabrics, such as oversized cardigans, light jackets, and athletic shorts. Elliott’s signature villain hoodie is reintroduced in the collection, sure to please admirers of the brand’s wildly popular look, as seen in its recent Loopwheel collaboration. The diverse range is perfect for the luxury-oriented man looking for wearability and uncomplicated styles that still provide depth—an aesthetic reflected in the act of watching water.
