Acne Studios’ eyewear makes a comeback with new styles and updates on the classics in designs full of character for 2016 that do not disappoint. Four seasons in, and the partnership between Carhartt WIP and Italian eyewear designer RETROSUPERFUTURE shows no signs of slowing down. The latest Autumn/Winter 2015 line, a mashup of both American-utilitarian feel and Italian style, offers three new designs that provoke a new-age elegance while staying true to Carhartt’s railroad worker, Detroit-based inception. Available in a range of brazen colors—red Havana, black matte, metallic grey, and blue matte among them—the triple-threat of specs is an innovative addition to a partnership that spawns some of eyewear’s best. The Stokely, the undisputed superstar of the collaboration, offers a definitive, elegant crafting with a comfortably chic finish that frames the face in a downward sloping curve. The Farwell, the Stokely’s wide-lensed cousin, suggests a rounded, inherently masculine ‘50s bridge between the modern Stokely and the dual-color Dickinson Matte, a posh rocker that appears almost British in wear and shaping. All constructions feature the same cat-eye upturned frames and durable hardware construction of exceptional Italian acetate, giving the line a fusion of utility, identity, and character that allows the wearer a classic 20th-century personality with a grounding in bold contemporary flair.
The Carhartt WIP by RETROSUPERFUTURE line is available now.

Burberry stays brazenly British in the release of its new Autumn/Winter 2015 campaign for its two new seasonal optic collections. The Scholar and the Sartorial lines, debuting simultaneously, feature an English severity and contemporary design that is brought to life through the glossy new imagery. Tapping British up-and-coming musicians Tom Odell, Oscar Robertson, and Ranald MacDonald to model—standing by the brand’s track record for seeking inspiration in the English music scene—the series pairs the lenses with the classic Burberry tartan for a sharp, saturated interpretation of the brand’s double eyewear lines.

Acne Studios‘ just-launched, first fully complete eyewear collection features seven style that focus on color and shape in regards to both its frames and lenses. Ranging from oval-shaped to a curved interpretation of the aviator, the collection exploits tints of color—most noticeably bright banana yellows and sweet pinks—to create a bold offering of optics. “I wanted to introduce new styles, and refine our previous designs, to create Acne Studios Eyewear,” says Creative Director Jonny Johansson. “For this first collection, I᠆ve drawn on my role models in music as inspiration and reference, it᠆s up to the customer to guess who.”
