Ben Sherman x House of Holland Embrace the Bold & Preppy for Spring 2019

English menswear label Ben Sherman presented its second collection with House of Holland during London Fashion Week. Extending beyond the blend of classic silhouettes with the playful prints Holland is known for, the latest collection saw the colors go even louder. Bold stripes and warm tropical prints were present throughout the collection, which had a more conventional menswear vibe — a departure from the Britpop-inspired pieces shown earlier this year.

Ben Sherman also presented its main line, dubbed the King’s Road Ivy collection. Inspired by various styles of the 60s and 70s (think American collegiate meets British mod), the designer balanced a darker palette with blunt color blocking and mixed prints. The result was a rich display of the sharp tailoring and traditional silhouettes that one can expect from the label.

Ben Sherman x House of Holland Fall 2018 First Looks

Clash of two seminal UK designers with the debut of Ben Sherman x House of Holland for Fall 18. The posh structure of Sherman was balanced with the bold use of prints and color ubiquitous with Henry Holland’s label. Men’s classic silhouettes — like knit sweaters, Britpop-esque track jackets that would seem at home in a Blur video, and a white puffy parka fit for skiing with rich people — were injected with contemporary flair and it-moment trends including embroidered patches and other embellishments, displaying a perfect marriage of influences.

Tom Ford

Models Jon Kortajarena and Yasmin Wijnaldum command center stage in Tom Ford‘s sultry new campaign for its Noir Anthracite fragrance. Bringing to life the spicy notes of black wood and bergamot, the flesh-baring visual follows the Mario Sorrenti-shot Autumn/Winter campaign, highlighting the same overt sexuality.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo updates the traditional loafer and slip on for Autumn/Winter 2017, rebranding the designs with texture to add a contemporary flair. With dark blacks, deep purples, a smoky grays, the collection stands firm with one foot in tradition and the other in a low-cut future.

Vivienne Westwood

After debuting an Autumn/Winter 2017 campaign of tumbling, jumping grace, Vivienne Westwood releases a look behind the scenes with this GoPro-shot visual. With the National Centre for Circus Arts doing what they do best, the go-green collection reveals its playful, eco-charged energy.

Hugo Boss

ESSENTIAL HOMME February/March 2016 cover star Theo James stars in The Scent Intense, a fragrance and accompanying campaign for the latest his/her offering from Hugo Boss. Ben Sherman

Unapologetically embracing its British heritage, Ben Sherman unveils a look at its Spirit of Mod Autumn/Winter campaign—a music-heavy journey through one of England’s iconic fashion movements. Now’s the time to rediscover the Beatle-favorite newsboy cap and effortless aristocratic edge.

Ben Sherman Buttons Up for Fall/Winter 2014

Video: Ben Sherman.

Though the subject of a seasonal campaign, for Fall/Winter 2014 the British rockers-turned-gentlemen behind Ben Sherman emphasize a single styling component that has truly become essential to the brand’s half-a-century old identity: the buttoning up to the top button of a man’s dress shirt. While this sartorial decision has been trending within the mainstream recently, with the resurgence of nostalgic dressing such as Odd Future (here’s Earl rocking the look), it has been a quintessential style choice for Ben Sherman since 1963. The FW14 campaign video above stars model Louis Simono depicting an array of outfits focused on the closed neck effect. An accompanying behind the scenes video delves into the history of Ben Sherman shirts, and the essential ‘Britishness’ of buttoning them to the top. The lesson of it all? You can forego the tie but don’t forget to #buttonup. Share a picture of yourself doing just that for a weekly chance to win a Ben Sherman shirt.

WATCH: Ben Sherman’s Short Film ‘Parachute’

 Video: Ben Sherman.

We grew up being told “the sky is the limit,” but with Ben Sherman‘s Parachute, an introspectively beautiful short that celebrates the brand’s latest Spring/Summer 2014 Collection, “Plectrum,” that is clearly not the case. Inspired by the drag and aerodynamic lift of parachutes that roam the sky, the collection uses the skeleton and internal structure of these vessels as well as their geometric prints and unconventional fabrics as a point of reference. What results is a series of light parkas, graphic sky-printed tees, and engineered shorts that are as striking in motion up in the air as they are simply just in the office.
