Public School Spring 2013: The Structured Cool
Public School has done well at giving us edgy, creative, smart since 2008 and for Spring 2013, designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne took this aesthetic down a clean and structural avenue with the effect of being, simply put, tight. From the guys, “We examined the concept of ‘structure’ and how it exists contextually within society. We were very interested how a delicate balance and network of relationships helped to form structure and provide a base in which all law and order was supported. We extended this concept into our collection looking at the delicate tailoring and fabrics, which helped to create the strong solid form we were envisioning.” They’ve given their customer an entire wardrobe, from basics like scoop neck T’s and slim cut pants to a dapper looking two button casual suit and a cropped double breasted blazer to key pieces like an electric blue leather trench, sleeveless white leather vest and purple camo pants.
