Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne Named New Creative Directors of DKNY

Earlier this morning it was announced that the downtown duo behind Public School, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, will be (partly) trading drop-crop trousers for corporate slacks, having been appointed the two new creative directors of DKNY. The two will oversee all collections under the Donna Karan New York name and lead a creative overhaul of the contemporary sportswear company, bringing with them Hector Muelas, previously of Apple Inc, as the newly-created Chief Image Officer. While the continuity of the New York aesthetic isn’t lost in the new creative team, it remains to be seen if Chow and Osborne—who will both divide their time between DKNY and Public School—can continue to execute rebellious style at an executive level. Nevertheless, we’re excited.
