Exclusive to ESSENTIAL HOMME, we offer a preview of Barneys New York‘s upcoming Ralph Lauren Purple Label Spring 2016 lookbook, which stars Konrad Annerud. The project marks the first major shoot for the 21 year-old, who, until only recently, was a drummer and bartender in Sweden. After gaining serious notoriety on Instagram for his striking looks—and sharing an uncanny resemblance to a certain celebrity—the young skater struck a recording deal with Universal, and now has landed his modeling debut with the high-end retailer. The photos showcase Annerud in Ralph Lauren’s re-imagined version of its lavish Purple Label. After merging the sporty Black and tailored Purple labels last year, the new line is a slimmer and tighter edit of the American brand’s signature styles. With pieces ranging from elevated sportswear to relaxed formal-wear, the Spring 2016 collection covers all the bases. This continues a string of big moves from Barneys following the opening of its new downtown location earlier this week. With a revitalized focus on its men’s business, expect more male-centric projects down the pipeline, and be sure to keep a look out for the full lookbook, which drops online Sunday, Jan. 21. Until then, enjoy the preview above.
