Nixon Debuts Its First Smartwatch: The Mission

The MissionImage: Nixon.

Global watch purveyor Nixon launches its first smartwatch, the Mission, on the heels of the brand’s first U.S. retail store opening in New York City. With ease-of-use functionality and an expansive personalization platform, the release marks the first custom action-sports smartwatch to hit the wearable tech market. Twelve bezel options are available in a variety of finishes, such as solid stainless steel, IP plated steel, and a hard-wearing Cerakote paint finish, and the watch face can also display the new Mission faces – the Mission and the Mission Pro – as well as other top selling Nixon models. The custom bands are offered in 24 durable, dual-layer silicone colors and can be purchased separately for customers to change up the look at home. All of the options within the case, bezel, band, and face give more than 44,000 possible custom combinations. The smart functions are built on Android Wear, Google’s smartwach platform, and feature a suite of custom applications tailored to action-sports and third party compatibility. The timepiece features an ultra-rigged design with a classic sporty feel that reflects Nixon’s signature looks. The Mission, complete with a 100-meter water resistance rating and shockproof case, is made for edgy men who have an active lifestyle in the water, on the mountain, and beyond.
