Monastery Introduces Oil-Based Skincare
California-based brand Monastery, with aesthetician Athena Hewett at its helm, is introducing a new kind of skincare that uses oils to heal the skin. After 18 years of working as an aesthetician at her Noe Valley skincare studio, Hewett began using aromatherapy and natural skincare she had learned from her Greek grandmother. Monastery’s natural compounds nourish the skin leaving it healthy, clear, and glowing. Since skin is our largest organ and our most sensitive, so many products continue to use such aggressive ingredients in their composition including salts, parabens, chemicals, alcohols, and artificial colorants. The brand is free of all those ingredients and instead is focused on working with truly organic essential oils and maximizing their benefits, with a variety of products each bottled separately and targeting a particular concern.
