Christopher John Rogers Won the 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund

Last night, Christopher John Rogers was crowned as the winner of the 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in New York City. The 25-year-old Brooklyn-based designer will receive $400 thousand by the fund in addition to a year of mentorship from one of the CFDA members. Runners-up include streetwear designer Reese Cooper and bridal designer Danielle Frankel — they’ll each receive $150 thousand and a year of mentoring also.

Rogers is known for his billowing evening wear and taste for striking color and pattern, and his designs have been worn by the likes of Michelle Obama, Lizzo, and Tracee Ellis Ross. Born in Baton Rouge, Lousiana, he graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He made his New York Fashion Week debut in September 2018.

Previous winners of the prestigious title include Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and Telfar.
