Barneys Finales Footwear Series with Exclusive Common Projects Styles

As karmic science dictates, all good things must come to an end. Fortunately in the case of Barneys New York‘s fan favorite BNY Sole Series—a season-long capsule of exclusively footwear styles from adidas, Converse, Diadora, and more made in collaboration with the high-end retailer—the last number deserves an applause. Staying true to both brands’ core concepts, Barneys turned to fashion staple Common Projects for a three-style release of perforated and layered leather over canvas low-tops with rubber soles and CP’s metallic gold signature. “Common Projects is a longtime footwear partner of ours and there is a lot of buzz around their brand right now,” says senior buyer for men’s footwear at Barneys Chris Pepe. “We thought it was fitting to offer up a collaboration during the holidays, because [they] only offer fall and spring collections.” Starring the iconic achilles silhouette, the collaboration encouraged a larger gauge of perforation than what is typically used, allowing for a greater visual effect. An update to a popular style, the sneakers round out the BNY Sole Series in a bitter sweet–but also can’t wait to grab—moment.
