WATCH: ‘Man on the Move’ from Hermés Man

Video: Hermés.

Famously known as one of fashion’s most revered and lusted over fashion houses—don’t you try to get between a woman and her Birkin!—Hermés of Paris has its own distinctive legacy that is as much of a cultural offering as the tangerine-box-covered products are each collection. To celebrate its theme for 2014 (Metamorphosis, an optimistic look towards innovation while still keeping elements of tradition in the brand’s peripherals), Hermés commissioned director Romain Laurent to create a short film, Man on the Move. The video above stars dancer Jérémie Bélingard as he floats through Paris, discovering tailored pieces from Hermés men’s ready to wear collection Spring/Summer 2014. The menswear—designed by Véronique Nichanian—like Bélingard, are suspended in the space: having found a perfect equilibrum between legacy and progression.
