Classic American sportswear that you thought you knew is seen anew in Trademark‘s clean-lined, tech-detailed Spring/Summer 2015 collection, a grouping of garments that play off traditional clean-cut menswear, while incorporating elements of normcore irony and Indian exoticism. Specifically referencing Jean Renoir’s 1951 film”The River,” a teenage love story set on the banks of the Ganges River, Trademark embraces its defining goal of creating a perfectly individual uniform with a new collection that uses a variety of weights and textures in a sporty, yet minimal approach to the wardrobe. Key items include dress shirts with snaps (instead of typical buttons), tees with elongated sleeves and ribbed necks, and denim-styled pants of both canvas and cloth variety. Atop most items, the most obvious addition for Spring/Summer 2015 is the inclusion of a new logo patch that shows the brand’s New York flagship’s address 95 Grand Street, where the collection is available in full, as well as online, starting now.

Bernard Willhelm Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook

As per usual, art-skewing fashion designer Bernard Willhelm‘s latest collection is anything but usual clothes. His just-released lookbook for Spring/Summer 2015 (below) reveals slightly revealing but mostly subversive garments that tackle cultural tangents ranging from the over-branding of American patriotism, the ever-increasing stardom of supermodels, society’s constant desire for the “next” (à la the former hit MTV show from the late ’00s of the same name… but also pointing fingers at the severity of our consumeristic culture), and—last but not least—gorillas. Duh. It’s an eclectic assortment of super dyed swimwear, gender-crossing attire, and dazzling prints—not to mention the designer’s ever popular quirky footwear—that keeps us anything but not interested.

U Clothing Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook

There is an overbearingly-masculine quality to U Clothing‘s Spring/Summer 2015 lookbook, which despite taking place in the clean context of a white bricked artist studio, echoes the brute toughness of the streets from which the utility brand draws its inspiration. Using that as its starting point, the new collection rejects the flash appeal of other brands, instead building on menswear basics and elevating staples such as denim jackets and hoodie/shorts ensembles to a luxury level. It’s a stoically stylish spring that U Clothing hints at, of which we’re counting down the days toward.

Exclusive: Krane Spring/Summer 2015 Accessory Lookbook

Like the design house itself, the new lookbook from Toronto-based Krane is equal parts modern and quirky as it is recalling of traditional menswear. Photographed by Tabea Mathern and designed by Ron Wan, the quality detail of the each leather piece and accessory for Spring/Summer 2015 is pulled out of the shadows in a series of surrealistically clean vignettes, which offer glimpses of the Canadian brand’s commitment to the “process,” while also hinting at playful tangents of European whit. See an exclusive preview of next season’s lookbook below.
