Louis-Vuitton-Colognes

Cologne Symphony from Louis Vuitton

Inspired by the cool Pacific Ocean waters and the contagious laissez-faire vibes of California, Louis Vuitton creates a sensorial feast through the West Coast with three new unisex colognes. The fragrances, titled Afternoon Swim, Cactus Garden, and Sun Song, encase a summer symphony in colored flacons. Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud bottled the summery potions with rare and natural floral and citrus materials that reveal a beautifully tender nature. Sun Song elevates elegant notes of orange blossoms grown in Grasse, France, while Cactus Garden delves into exotic tea with a complex tropical effect. Afternoon Swim is citrus heaven of bergamot. Each scent is wrapped in special packaging designed by artist Alex Israel, reflecting the unique nature of Los Angeles while also spinning off the theme of a cross-country road trip. Light and unimposing, the trio is the ultimate announcement and reminder of summer’s arrival.

All three fragrances, $250, are available at LouisVuitton.com and select stores.

Ermenegildo Zegna Launches Essenze Eau de Parfum

Ermenegildo Zegna launched its 5-piece collection of perfumes, with notes ranging from Italian bergamot to a denser Indonesian oud. A nod to the label’s heritage, a few scents are derived from Italian products — iris and bergamot, and another general Mediterranean neroli.

Elegant and polished, each of the perfumes has a distinguished angle. Starting off light, the collection progresses into heavier scents as if going from day to night. While all the scents may be worn throughout the day, there is a particular morning freshness in “Italian bergamot” and peppery exotism in “Madras cardamom” suitable for the night.

Alessandro Sartori, Zegna’s Artistic Director, worked directly with perfumer Pierre Negrin on the first four scents and Marie Salagne on the last scent. Negrin, a photography lover, loves capturing the essence of a product. In fact, he created “Italian Bergamot” from bergamot harvested in Zegna’s private reserve in Calabria. Negrin’s signature is quite tender and very intentional in all his creations. Salagne, on the other hand, is an experimental and edgy Parisian with a defined kick in her creations perfectly wrapping off the Zegna collection.

Ermenegildo Zegna Essenze Eau De Parfum is available at select Zegna boutiques and Bloomingdale’s now.

Following the launch of Louis Vuitton‘s first five-scent men’s fragrance collection in May, their first unisex oud scent dubbed Ombre Nomade launches today. Dark and mysterious, the new scent smells like a hot summer night somewhere out in a desert, or on the edge of the world with a retrograde beaming right overhead, and dry wood scenting the air.

With a strong accent of oud, complemented by leathery and spicy tones, Ombre Nomade offers a mystical and intimate feeling. A hint of raspberry, rose and geranium follow through with a tinge of floral scent, yet still highly resembling deep notes of spirituality. Perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud found this particular Louis Vuitton note of spirituality all the way in Bangladesh.

Ombre Nomade is available at select Louis Vuitton stores and LouisVuitton.com now.

Cartier Releases New Masculine Fragrance, L’Envol de Cartier

Cartier’s latest fragrance marks new territory for the French brand’s perfumery department in more ways than one. Both masculine and airy, L’Envol de Cartier joins existing scents as the first oriental in the Cartier family. Accented with patchouli, contrasting notes of Gaiac wood and nectar-like sweetness create a fully rounded, yet complex fragrance.

The eau de parfum’s bottle displays Cartier’s penchant for luxury and innovation: a glass outer shell houses the capsule-like inner tank, made removable for easy refills, and a guilloché-inlaid bottle stopper twists down, revealing the nozzle. The effect of the suspended inner chamber is magical, physicalizing the lightness of the scent in a display-worthy bottle not out of place amongst other Cartier glassworks.

L’Envol de Cartier is available online now.
