Frank + Oak Sees a Brand-New Look

Site - Desktop - HomeImagea: Frank + Oak.

Frank + Oak enhances its visual identity and overall ethos through a newly-transformed mobile app, website, and store concept that allows consumers 24/7 personal styling and 2-hour deliveries in select markets, among other features. The transition comes from a high-speed year of 13 store openings—including its first international brick-and-mortar—and amped up products and online services. Externally, the clean design includes minimal typography, suggested featured products, a fresh color palette, and a brand new logo, the “step up,” while in-store programming ranges from a new merchandizing plan—products will now be grouped in four distinct zones—to lifestyle supplements in the form of lounge areas and one-on-one appointments. “Every change we’re making is considered and only in the service of making the experience better,” said Frank + Oak CMO Eric Alper in a statement. “Our brand transformation is not merely a visual change: it’s about owning our purpose.”

E-Commerce Site Frank & Oak Launches Video Game-Inspired Menswear Collection

Watch_Dogs_4

If you consider Karl Lagerfeld’s unexpectedly-difficult Je Veux Les Lunettes De Karl, an online game in which users are charged with the task of stealing sunglasses off the creative eye of Chanel, or Rachel Zoe’s Covet Fashion, a mobile styling app that lets bored housewives players style avatars with actual name-brand brands, then the interaction between the worlds of video games and fashion does not seem as foreign as the words — or their television portrayal — might imply. Taking this (still developing?) dynamic and pushing the relationship one step further, menswear brand and e-tailers Frank & Oak has designed a real-life capsule collection inspired by the highly-anticipated digital action/adventure video game, Watch Dogs. In the story, under the role of hacker and vigilante Aiden Pearce, players use technology to manipulate a dystopian and hyper-connected version of Chicago, Illinois. The resulting 12-piece collection shares the same bleak, smart darkness that Watch Dogs lives in, in uniforms of industrially-worn french terry hoodies, distressed v-neck tees, and sleek black canvas pants. See some of our favorite pieces from the capsule collaboration below and be sure to check out the full line when it launches online Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

On a big roll is Frank & Oak who, weeks after giving the world their athletic line, have just teamed up with Lunice, you know, the hitman responsible for remixing some hot tracks from Azelia Banks, the xx, Theophilus London and Foster the People, on a capsule collection of street cred shirting. The limited edition collection is pretty unassuming: There’s slim-fit twill button-down—available in jet black and olive —with a hidden camo-print yoke and Lunice’s initials (LFPII) embroidered in every shirt that we’re really liking. “I’m all about simplicity and being timeless. And Frank & Oak completely understands the importance of that,” Lunice explained. The where to buy and launch date after the jump.
