Timing with the start of Miami Music Week, Red Bull and trendy New York outfitters Public School reveal a five-piece capsule collection, Tropic City Pack, exclusively available for guests staying on-site at the Red Bull Guest House at Sagamore, The Art Hotel during the event. The collaboration was inspired by a Tropic City concept interpreting Miami by way of New York City, resulting in fun black-and-white illustrative patterns described as “palm trees meet pigeon feathers.” The capsule collection includes an Undercover mesh knit unisex tank, You’re Welcome elongated knit tee, Public School x New Era city floral print snap back hat, Public School X Onia Calder PSNY trunk, and a Tumi Alpha 2 large wheeled duffle.
In many ways, MenInCities, an e-commerce men’s lifestyle accessories brand, is the answered prayer for the man who doesn’t see himself walking into Bergdorf’s and shouting, “Show me the bracelets!” Don’t twist the reality though, cause this man being spoken of (Cuba Gooding Jr.?) certainly appreciates a bracelet, in fact, he wants a bracelet badly, maybe other accessories even, he just doesn’t know where to begin. Well, remember back in November when we told you about Yuvi Alpert’s MenInCities? Consider this a necessary reminder.
Inspired by brands that have high quality craftsmanship but can be incorporated into everyday wear, the site offers ties, belts, money clips, pocket squares, pens, necklaces, flasks, and oh, even some cashmere warrior gloves, cause honestly, why not? The site offers a new collection of nine items released every month. Beyond that, the website offers a slew of unexpected collaborations with chefs, architects, and photographers. Asked about his dream collaborations (“besides Bob Dylan?”) Alpert offered: “a meditation guru, a professor, a surfer, anything that introduces people to something new.” In addition to a visual blog, the site offers — huzzah — how-to wear sketches.
Every single item on the site is priced at über-reasonable $39.99 (or you can sign up to become an Ambassador and receive everything for $29.99). We recommend: MenInCities + Neon Gold Records where Yuvi teamed up with Derek Davies, owner of Neon Gold Records (Passion Pit, Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding) to create a capsule tie collection suiting for, well, the burgeoning star. яндекс
The last time APC and Nike teamed up was back in April 2012, and the limited edition run sold out in a few hours. So be on the mark with the latest run that drops today. It’s less limited than last time, meaning more pairs, but the collection will still run on a limited basis. They’re offering abjectly minimalist versions of two popular Nike styles—the Nike Air Max and Nike Dunk, that reflect both the French elegance of APC and the American performance of Nike. Just don’t call them, er, french fries. Pricing, pics and availability right this way…
Mens Dunk (blk on blk) $100.00
Mens Dunk (hay on hay) $100.00
Mens Air Max (blk on blk) $120.00
Mens Air Max (wht on wht) $120.00
APC Nike are available at all APC stores worldwide and online at usonline.apc.fr
K-Swiss is renown for being the first to introduce leather tennis sneakers (Back in 1966 at Wimbledon) and Billy Reid is a buzzy, new brand that makes distinguished menswear rooted in the charm of the American South. Ok…os this is one of the more unexpected collaborations to come about in the past few years though, one we love since both brands put a premium on quality construction and fabrication. The next round of proof in this experiment comes in four additions to the family—two new colors in the suede collection, Bone and Chocolate and the new Wax Leather Collection that includes a high top. Check the pricing and where to buy, post jump.
Billy Reid K Swiss are available at Billy Reid stores (including online) and select Nordstrom’s for $95.
We just caught wind of an exciting collaboration between famed British home furnishings designer Tom Dixon and Adidas that will be unveiled at MOST at the Salone di Mobile this April. Details are scant but the first hints at what are to come, after the jump.
From the Adidas team:
Premiering new typologies of bags and apparel, the base of the collection comprises two travel bag typologies – the hard and the soft – an experiment in capsule thinking in which luggage unclasps, unzips and unfolds to reveal multiple layers.
Inside, the bags reveal a complete kit of parts for our week long stay in Italy – neatly, crisply and compactly folded with maximum efficiency to provide a complete wardrobe for every possible occasion.
Sounds like the perfect carry-on bag. Stay tuned for more details.
Sip on this: famed street culture designer NIGO® is launching a vintage Coca-Cola capsule collection in partnership with the 126 year old soda brand, iconic Japanese boutique Beams and Nigo’s label Human Made. (By the way, the copywritten, don’t copy him, NIGO® is the same guy who created A Bathing Ape). The Warhol-ian, Coca-Cola x Human Made by Beams line is inspired by research NIGO® conducted around 20th century era industrial wear fashions, and reconstructs what “might have been” a look of the time in a modern day context. Also, it draws from the designer’s own collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia that he’s been amassing since he was in high school. (Side note, the man won a Coca-Cola yo-yo competition in Japan back in the ’80’s) The collection includes a Shop Coat, Cover All Jacket, a Work Shirt, Cap, Jodhpur shorts, a Sweatshirt, and four T- shirts. (More detail, where to buy and carbonated fizz after the jump)
So…this is it—they all maintain some details of a much loved garment—soft to the touch from many wears and washings, brushed and weathered treatments, plus stitching true to the 1900s era. The iconic Coca-Cola logo from the 1910s will be reissued on items such as The Shop Coat. The Cover All jacket features a chinstrap and watch pocket common to jackets of the early 1900s and will maintain the same artisan stitching. Other items such as the Work Shirt feature asymmetric pockets, and the cotton Sweat Shirt has been created on a machine rarely used in today’s design world, the loop wheel – a vintage cotton knitting machine dating back to the 30’s and 40’s. Nice detail and, might we add, a good way to skip the Coke Zero this summer.

The collection will be available starting in mid-February in Beams stores across Japan. Internationally, it will be available in-store and online at Present in the UK (present-london.com), Haven in Canada (havenshop.ca), RSVP Gallery in the US (rsvpagallery.com) as well as online at ZoZoTown.com and Beams.co.jp.
Rounding off a few of Damir Doma’s Fall 2013 runway looks were some delectable, circular pieces of eyewear. The glasses are a collaboration between Damir Doma and tech-savvy Mykita—the second such. They play on spheroid aesthetics as well as contrasting materials and colors. The result embodies the insouciant elegance that permeated the Damir Doma Fall 2013 runway. Simply called the DD02 and DD03, both will be available at Mytika shops, the Damir Doma flagship and selected optical/fashion outlest as sunglasses or prescription frames and will be fitted with lenses from the fine people at ZEISS. Runway and product shots in the blink of an eye, right this way…
The DD02 model has circular lenses with stunning colour combinations: silver or black stainless steel coupled with bottle-green Peridot, translucent amethyst, ruby red ruby, shiny black and crystal-clear limpid for the frames, accompanied by grey, brown or green lenses. The marriage of clear acetate with green lenses creates the optical illusion of the latter floating freely inside the frame.
In the DD03 model the signature rings are linked via an extra bridge that at the same time serves as a styling element stressing the frame’s sporty credentials. The rings, visible from both sides, are again made from acetate and linked by a polished stainless-steel frame. The sleek and straight temples are a modern reference to the vintage look of the early 1930s. DD03 comes in the colour combinations black or silver with transparent limpid, ruby red, peridot or amethyst with green, grey, brown and black lenses.
The Herschel Supply Co. and New Balance collaboration that’ll be launching at Barneys.com, UrbanOutfitters.com, Undefeated and Burn Rubber offers up some fresh permutations on the clean and classic design both brands are known for. Herschel’s signature paisley print lining, found it all if its bags, is now the inside of your New Balance sneaker—the H710 hiking boot and the 420 running sneaker. Both will come with black, navy or red exteriors and custom branding on the tongue and insole. The new kicks arrive on February 2. After the jump you’ll find some images.
If you’re going to star as Neil Caffrey in the hit-series White Collar, described as debonair, charismatic, and suave, looking like a schlub off set is probably a no go. No bother for Matt Bomer, though, who’s taking his affinity for bespoke menswear to the next level, designing and hand selecting an entire collection for Alton Lane, including tailored accessories, bespoke suiting, and shirting fabrics. If you’re not familiar with White Collar — first question being: why? — Bomer plays con man Neil Caffrey, and would you believe it, his character knows a thing or two about how to dress. In fact he’s so styling that Gilt wanted in on the action as well. And so it was. Or will be. This Tuesday, January 22nd, beginning at 12PM the “Caffrey Collection” will go on sale for 36 hours, and feature exclusive ties, bowties and pocket squares ($29-69) and the opportunity to purchase bespoke suit and shirt packages. The suit packages ($2,000-$2,995) and three shirt package ($425) will be available for seven days. Separate from the collection, but included in the sale, will be tailored apparel and accessories from like menswear brands including Thomas Pink, Mr. Brown by Duckie Brown, Hickey, and Simon Spurr. But wait, there’s actually more. Gilt will debut an exclusive editorial spread featuring Bomer in select Alton Lane products AND offer a complimentary Alton Lane custom pocket square, designed by Bomer himself, to the first 500 Gilt member who visit the sale. Make that 499, as we’ll like be first in line. Capping off the marvelousness: 10% of the sale proceeds, as well as from customers who make an additional purchase from any of Alton Lane’s stores in New York, D.C., and Boston, will go to Project A.L.S., a national organization which Bomer is closely involved, funding research for what many know as Lou Gehrig’s disease. To put this all in perspective: Matt Bomer is styling, and now you can look, err, dress like he does, at a discount (thanks Gilt!), all the while making a charitable donation. Is it Tuesday yet?
Bernhard WillheLm builds upon his 7 seasons in collaboration with Camper shoes for Fall 2012. Willhem (who, quickly in case you’re not familiar, got his start with Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood and has worked closely with Bjork) transposed his quirky designs on both his collection and the Camper sneakers at his show in paris that featured models dressed as writhing zombies. The sneaks mix architectural structures with an orchestra of color and offer up styles that go from flamboyant to euphemistic without loosing a common voice. That the Camper collaboration manages to stand out means that they can be worn as focus pieces for more quiet looks (simple pants, simple shirt) or incorporated into much more busy looks without being swallowed whole. But really, it means this is a collection that’ll be adored.
Target hit the fashion bulls-eye, didn’t they? Starting September 9th, 2012, East Village Boutique Odin will be featured as part of the second installment of The Shops at Target! Odin will debut an exclusive, limited-time only collection featuring sweaters, henleys, button-downs, pants, shoes and accessories, that will be available in all brick and mortar Target locations and on Target.com. No images have been released just yet (you’re looking at their NYC store up there) but we’ll have them to you as soon as possible. It kills us to think of an Odin piece getting shoved into some hideous plastic shopping cart along with a microwave and a year’s supply of Splenda…but we do welcome the Target pricetag that’ll be attached. More here.
