Rhude Spring/Summer 2020 Looks to the West

Rhuigi Villaseñor made his Paris Fashion Week debut with Rhude‘s Spring/Summer 2020 collection, dubbed “Seven Falls.” A continuation of the designer’s taste for interpreting American iconography, the latest has clear nods to the American West —  long sleeves and lots of brown tones, mixed with the typical street aesthetic of boxy shirts and track pants were the latest in the Yeehaw Agenda. The more rugged style taken from classic American references is combined with a sporty sensibility, evocative of current West Coast culture and the prevalence of streetwear today. Villaseñor immigrated from the Philippines to L.A., and this collection displays his strength of merging separate cultural cues with razor-sharp street edge.
