Always striving towards artistic originality, Prada dives into the New Wave essence in its newly launched Fall/Winter 2015 Uomo campaign. Captured by British photographer Craig McDean, the campaign offers a black and white film and a series of photos featuring cinema’s biggest leading men right now—Scoot McNairy of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Gone Girl,” and “12 Years a Slave”; Michael Shannon of “Man of Steel,” “Take Shelter,” and “Revolutionary Road”; and Tye Sheridan of “Mud,” “The Tree of Life,” and “X-Men: Apocalypse.” In an almost disconcerting space of grey vacuum, the actors move spontaneously side by side the rhythm of the music in the video. There is neither a fixed narrative nor a linear progression: it is simply McNairy, Shannon, and Sheridan stripped of artifice. The kind of austere and sober aesthetics in the campaign reflects the utilitarian and industrial ethos embedded in the collection composed of elegant, clean outlines with details suggestive of uniforms.
