Philipp Plein, known for glitzy his shows and an equally superstar audience, presented his two-part F/W 2019 runway amidst an intimate dinner at New York’s The Pool helmed by chef Joe Cash. At the historical venue known for the afterparty of JFK’s birthday when Marilyn Monroe sang to him, Plein also debuted his ‘Billionaire Club’ collection stateside with a cast of silver-haired models. As the band played Tarantino hits, the new collection exhibited men’s evening wear of double-breasted suits and waistcoats, many finished in velvet for an extra luxe appeal.
The second act dubbed Noir Cowboy, presented subdued brand bling with extra elegance while still maintaining a Plein-palette of neons and metallics. Bold prints and cowboy boots wrapped up the collection into a lavish rendition of a grown-up Plein style, extra tailored and extra edgy. The runway finale featured Colombian darling Maluma down the runway with Philipp Plein himself, followed by a performance by Lil Pump.
