Key Looks: KRISVANASSCHE SS’14 Collection
The lines of sporting and formal dress are blurred in the KRISVANASSCHE collection for Spring 2014. Mr. Kris Van Assche’s eponymous collection chooses to meld the active sensibilities of the athlete with the refined taste in material and craftsmanship of the gentleman, resulting in a dazzling high-low meld. Sweatshirts are worn with loafers, suit jackets are rendered with short sleeves, sweaters are combined with training pants. Color and pattern are amplified to heavy volumes in the collection, with bright shades drawing the eye as exploded patterns prompt us to linger on the catching detail. Mr. Van Assche wanted a collection for men who have grown up playing sports, whose attention to detail was finely honed. With all the interlocking components of his new collection, he has certainly delivered.
