3.1 Phillip Lim SS’14 Collection
The bright blues of the summer sky and the washed out whites of the summer sun dominate the 3.1 Phillip Lim Collection for Spring 2014. Gingham, not the most common of patterns, features heavily in the early lineup, giving one the impression that the models are wearing a picnic blanket. The borrowing from nature continues with shorts covered in floral patterns, and midnight blue tank tops studded with stones, looking like the summer night sky. There are bold stripes in the collection also, showing up on trousers and in smocks. A lack of sleeves is evident; Mr. Lim wants us to keep cool in the heat.
